I'm a sergent now, but this may be the last time I will ever have a rank. Why does it seem that Saradomin always choses me for these kind of suicide missions? I mean, I can't get a normal assignment, like running supplies back here from Falador. At least I will have a few friends to come with me, but I don't know. I have a bad feeling about what will happen in a few short hours. But you know what? We're going there by ROWBOAT. Can you believe it? A few men in a rowboat. It will be a tight fit, and we will get wet, but it beats walking. And meeting enemies along the way.

Pvt. Sullivan- This is suicide! Why the hell are we doing this anyway?
Blackburn- Shut up private. If you be too loud, then we WILL be discovered.
And we didn't want to be discovered. This was the mission that could decide the fate of the war if we failed. Failure was not an option. Our goal was to discover where the enemy would attack and when if possible. That would allow us to focus most of our troops on one area and drive off the enemy. Our row boats were the smallest thing we could use without swimming, but it was still exhausting and time consuming. We rowed for hours, and we finally landed in the desert. We were at the Bedabin Camp and the base was located somewhere deep in the desert. Which we had to find. It was just me, Sullivan, and Ryan. Ryan had experience in summoning, and should have been our way out in the event something went wrong.
Pvt. Ryan- *whispers* Everyone stop! I see movement! 40 meters southeast of here!
I looked in that direction, and saw a four man squad of two warriors, an archer, and a mage- which is what we hoped we wouldn't run into. Luckily, I brought a bow with me. We had been given direct orders NOT TO ENGAGE THE ENEMY IF WE COULD HELP IT. We wanted to let the squad to move on, but we decided to follow them with the smallest of hopes that they could lead us to the base.
Blackburn- *whispers* I think I see the base...EVERYONE GET DOWN NOW!
Suddenly, the mage shot a white ball of life into the air. It explodeded in mid air and illuminated the whole area, including us. We didn't find the base. We found a fortress. And we had been spotted.

???- Why are you here?
Ryan- Up yours you damn radical!
*Loud smack*
???- Answer my damn question you incompetent fool!
*Louder punch*
Ryan- You won't get anything out of me you son of a-
???- Oh really? We'll see about that.
I heard the sound of a stick being lit next to a crackling fire.
???- You wanna know a secret?
Ryan-....No
???- Well then I'll tell you anyway..... THIS HURTS LIKE HELL!!!!!
Ryan- (Screaming) AGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! MY GOD! AGGGHHHHHHH!!!!
Tears fell from my face as I heard him scream. I couldn't see what he was going through, but it didn't matter. I'd heard of people being tortured before, but Ryan- My god only bad things happen to other people! Life isn't supposed to work out like this! This shouldn't happen to ME. Only to THEM..... My god I have to get out of this hell. Only God can save us now.... but if God could save us, then why the hell am I here? Is God cruel? Or is God not even here?

Day 30-45 in Captivity
My body is breaking...I don't think I can deal with much more pain...all I can do is just hope I die soon. Hunger is getting to me...
That was when I heard an explosion.
Covenant Commander- We're being attacked! Everyone to your stations!
I heard footsteps down the hall from me, scrambling to get to their posts. Not to far away I hear the sound of sword on sword. A soldier only armed with a dagger burst into my cell and cut the throat of my cellmate. I wasn't going to let that happen to me.
He lunged at me, but I shoved his sword arm to the left, forcing to him only slice the air. I grabbed his head with my other hand and bent it down. I kneed him in the face and he crumpled at my feet, but he got back up; bleeding and bruised. He attempted to punch me but I grabbed his wrist with my left hand and pulled him until his elbow was level with my shoulder, then I rammed my shoulder out and pulled his arm in, snapping his arm. I kicked him in the knee until I heard it snap and slammed him into the wall, knowing that he wasn't going to get back up. I picked up his steel dagger, but I wasn't complaining- any weapon is better than nothing at all.
I could here more soldiers comming, because someone must have heard that commotion. I ran as fast as I could in the opposite direction, not knowing quite where I was going. All I knew was that I would not survive a better equiped enemy. The wall on my left exploded just behind me, and marines flooded the complex. Among them, I saw Captain Macmillian.
Macmillian- Thank God I found you! I thought you were dead. Where is the rest of your squad?
I dropped to my knees and cried like I never had before. I managed to tell him that Ryan was tortured to death, and Sullivan was transferred to a base in the wilderness.
Macmillian- The wilderness? God...
Our troops raided that complex. We killed EVERY enemy there, to avenge our fallen. Three dead, 7 wounded. And one man missing. Private Sullivan.

Blackburn- Why are you here? We failed our mission. We should have been-
Macmillian- No, that was just bad intel. We were told that we would be attacked here, but Ardounge was attacked instead. God, that was a mess. We had a spy, he gave us the intel assuming that we would focus our troops here instead. What he didn't know was that we had decided not to take any chances, and that we were sending a strike force to find out where and when.
Blackburn-What about the troops in Ardounge? Are they alright?
Macmillian- Well...I'm not sure how to tell you this, but...it could have gone worse. They killed about 25 troops. They wounded twice that, and took a few prisoners, some of which were liberated when we attacked that fortress you were held in.
Blackburn- What about my old regiment? Are they okay?
Macmillian- Yes, it's still in one piece. They were busy checking out rumors of a secret base near Yanille. They didn't find anything.
Blackburn- Have you found Ryan's body yet?
Macmillian- No we haven't. He's most likely in a mass grave in the middle of the desert. Look, I know he was your friend. But, I've lost a lot of friends all over the world. Why do you think we are in control of Karamja? We lost fifty men here. Of those dead men, two were my brothers. I've lost a hundred men under my command. If I lose one man, then I haved saved the lives of ten. If you figure that, then I've saved the lives of a thousand men, some even twice.
Blackburn- I don't want to do this anymore, but I will. I'm going to find Sullivan, and I'm going to make sure the people who captured us rot in hell for it.

Undisclosed location, D-Day minus five
Gen. Oonkeebaa (Oonk)- We will need about 50 boats with 20-30 men in each....we're going to land in three different places....and there will be bunker after bunker of rangers and mages....
Capt. Tris- General, is all this neccessary just to take Mos Le' Harmless? It's suicide.
Gen. Oonk- We need to liberate the island. That's where most of our prisoners are behing held at. I'm counting on Let. Blackburn to help lead our troops in for the first wave. We go in on June 6.
Capt. Tris- How many men do you thing will be lost?
Gen. Oonk- I don't know. I hate planning to lose men. One dead man is already too many. I can only pray...

D-Day
The stench of puking men is overwhelming on my lander. There is no room to breath, let alone move. I'm sharing this prelude to hell with 29 men under my command- as I have been promoted to Leuitenant. The waves are crashing around me, and the sea spray drenched us to the bone and is freezing.
Driver- Sixty seconds!
Blackburn- Listen up men! I want plenty of space between men- one man to them is a waste of ammo and runes; five is an opportunity. Charge up the shores by any means nessecary. I will see you on the beach!
Driver- Fifteen seconds!
I look around, looking at the faces of men for one last time before we charge up the beach. Some of them are just boys- 12 and 15 year olds, fighting in a war. The stony faces of the older men and veterans. We are all scared. Some were saying their prayers before we land. And then-
Driver- CLEAR THE RAFT!
The doors dropped and the sky was blocked out by arrows. Most of them fell short or behind the landers, but some arrows managed to hit. An arrow hit my chest, but it bounced off due to my armor. Others were not so lucky. Private Flowe dropped; an arrow sticking through his neck. Mages cast fire spells at us, and one managed to hit my lander- the rear instantly caught fire.
Blackburn- LETS GO! Jump over the edges if you have to! I DO NOT WANT TO SEE MY MEN BURNING TO DEATH!
On my left and right men poured out of the landers. The bunkers flashed as mages fired, and arrows soared into the sky fired by rangers from behind sandbags.
Cpl. Johnson- Sir! What the **** do we do now, Sir!
Blackburn- Get up this beach thats what!
Johnson- Where is the rally point?
Blackburn- Anywhere BUT here!
I ran and dove forward to take cover behind the seawall (a row/pile of sand that prevents water from flooding the coast) and looked behind me. Already, as many as 50 bodies litered the beach, with burning wood and landers washing ashore. More landers were comming in, and we hadn't done anything exept survive.

The sea was red with blood. Burning debris littered the beach, and all we had managed to do is not get killed.
Blackburn- Mages on my mark blow the wire! Three! Two! ONE! FIRE IN THE HOLE!
Other soldiers- FIRE IN THE HOLE!
A deafening series explosions went off to the left and right of me. Sand rained on our heads, and the remnants of the constantina wire flew up in the air and disappeared.
Blackburn- ALLRIGHT GO GO GO!
I stood up and ran for my life with my other soldiers. Many men fell by hands of archers and mages. One soldier in particular was struck by a fire wave, and was instantly killed by the fire that consumed three other men. I was weaving in and out of arrows and dived for cover in front of one of the many bunkers, followed by other soldiers.
Johnson- What now Sir?
Blackburn- Lean your head out and tell me if there are any archers behind sandbags.
He stuck his head out and quickly pulled back, followed by a soft thud as the arrow hit where his head had been moments before.
Johnson- It's in my belief that there are archers behind those sandbags.
Blackburn- Rachet, get your ass over here!
Rachet- Yes, sir?
Blackburn- Cast a smoke burst in those sandbags so that we can pass through in one piece.
Rachet- ^_^ (hehehe)
He leaned out and threw his arms in the air twice and pulled back. I leaned my head out to see what would happen, and heard the coughs of his victims as the smoke filled their eyes and lungs.
Blackburn- CHAAAARGE!!!
Me and nine other men stormed up to the sandbags as the smoke cleared. I lept over them and shoved my sword into one of their necks and left it there. I pulled out my knife and threw it at a man who was trying to run away, but the knife went into the back of his head and he fell. I pulled my sword out of the first mans throat and watched my men kill the enemies who were surrendered.

I went to the door that lead to the inside of the bunker and hit it twice with my sword and drew back, followed by my other men. Almost at once, a stupid man leaned his head out to see the cause of the noise. I grabbed his head and pulled him out, cracked it against the wall, and let him drop. I tossed in an experimental weapon (an explosive fire rune) and heard a deafening blast as fire flew out of the door and the openings in the bunker. Men ran out with their clothing ablaze and screaming wildly. I walked around to examine the damage we had caused, when a soldier walked up to me with his hands raised.
Enemy soldier- I surrender! I surrender!
Blackburn- What? What?
Enemy soldier- I surrender!
Blackburn- What? I'm sorry I can't understand you.
I notched a bolt in the crossbow at my side.
Enemy soldier- I surrender! I surren-
I pulled the trigger on the crossbow and the bolt hit him right in his heart. Blood spurted out of his mouth as he was trying to get that last word out. His body crumpled and I walked away to find Macmillian.

Undisclosed location, D-day plus two
Oonk- Alright we've captured half of the island so far, and our special forces are reconning the HVT buildings. We cannot afford to lose this one.
Captain Loko- When will I move my platoon in? We have fresh troops. They want to see some action.
Oonk- As soon as we have the area mapped you can move in. So who are you appointing as one of your squad commanders?
Loko- LT. Blackburn of course. He seems to have an idea of what is at stake. He has the ability to get the job done, and he gets it done right.
Oonk- Don't you think he's been through enough already?
Loko- We'll soon find out Sir.
