Chapter 2 part 3
There I stood again at the blazing gates of another ravaged city. I stared into the scorched and blood covered city and prayed to Guthix that the Malevolent One was defeated so that I would not have to fight him. I tapped my summoning pouches of Guthix Eagles to make sure they didn't fall out of my battle-worn backpack during the trip through the forest. I did the same for my summoning potions, and my first aid kit. Then I unsheathed Current, which is what I named the blessed long sword Lord Guthix gifted to me. I glanced at Current and then visualized the Malevolent One's malicious blade forged in the infernos of hell itself. My head twitched and spazzed at the thought of falling to that unholy claymore.

Once all my vital equipment was accounted for, I took one, deep breath and bellowed my orders, "NOW! Archers, up the wall with the mages! Warriors, come with me!" At that a cacophony of battle cries and unsheathing swords arose.

I bashed through the crumbling gates and began the violence. I immediately targeted the Malevolent One and charged. Below him I saw a hand sinking into the ground, cringing with pain. The Malevolent One turned and spotted me coming after him. He merely smiled, revealing hideous, blood stained teeth filed to fangs.

I attempted to make an uppercut slash using Current but he merely blocked, using what seemed like minimal effort. I swiftly pushed his blade away and tried to make a slash at his right arm, but he dodged, though I did make a small cut on his bicep. He glanced at the cut, and then glared at me. He then slashed directly at my head, but I moved back. I wasn't fast enough to avoid getting a large vertical tear across my eye.

I gripped my eye, blood seeping though my fingers. It was apparent to me that he was too strong to defeat in a brawn battle. Attempting would be futile. it would only result in my death. So instead of using my brawn, I resorted to using my brain.

I backed up just in time to dodge his next downward slash.

I pivoted around him and before he could raise his sword again I slashed horizontally in a small cleft in his armor. But I was too far away to make a significant enough injury to kill him. It did though give me enough time to follow it up with a sweep cut. He fell to the ground, still gripping his back, as my sword tripped him over from the sweep.

As I tried to finish him off by stabbing downward, he rolled away and my blade sunk into the ground. Before I could release Current from the ground he stood and said, "That's it! Let's see you dodge my magic!" And he shot hellfire from his sword. I just barely dodged the fire, leaving my eyebrows singed.

While I was still stumbling backwards from dodging the fire, the Malevolent One closed his eyes and muttered some ancient and dead language. As he did the ground shook and a small in circumference abyss opened up in the earth under me. Into the abyss, I fell, the growing darkness swallowing me as I fell deeper and deeper into the giant hole. It was over. I had fought the Malevolent One, and as I predicted, he won. I have been defeated.

The deeper I fell the more hopeless I felt. I knew for sure that I was dead. I've failed my Lord Guthix. As the last speck of hope bled from me, I remembered my Guthix Eagles. I
pulled a pouch from my backpack and summoned an eagle. I mounted and we flew back up, onto the earth.

Cursed Guthix!" The Malevolent One screamed, his eyes now the darkest crimson as the magic slowly dispersed throughout his veins. He fought on, his hell-forged blade emanating the very essence of war, casting all souls into an eternal anguish.

The tides of victory were slowly seeping from his grasp as the warriors of Guthix came to the aid of Falador.

"Where is that fool, Bandos?" he asked the air, through gritted teeth.

The ferocity of battle had returned him to normal, pushing all memories to the edge of his mind so they would no longer affect his judgment.

A lone dragon soared overhead, scorching the earth with its infernal breath, and searing the flesh of mortal men. The Malevolent One paused a moment, as the fire tore across his already-dead skin and cleared the area around him.

As the thick smoke lifted from the dragon’s path, a single soldier charged in on his steed – sword held low and aimed for The Malevolent One's head.

The Malevolent One stood for a moment, contemplating his next move. Then, at the last second, threw his body off balance, missing the incoming blade no more than an inch. He continued his movement, swinging around to watch as his assailant attempted to face him. Too late did the man bring up his sword in defense, as the sword of Zamorak's General plunged deep into his chest.

He man let out a contorted scream as the air was ripped from his lungs and the blood from his heart. It quickly congealed and burned as it stuck to the blazing blade. The Malevolent One merely laughed as he saw yet another soul ripped from its host and spat into the dark abyss of death in which the General had made his eternal home.

As he wrenched the blade from the dead man's body, foot on chest, he saw, from the corner of his eye, a man leap from beneath the earth. Spinning to face him, he hunched his shoulders forwards and hissed, an adder waiting to strike, as the recently deceased man rose again, ready to resume the battle.

I charged at my demonic nemesis, whose power was the equivalent to that of one of the 3rd Age Heroes. Dharok the Wretched would have been a worthy adversary, as opposed to me, a lowly Guthixian warrior.

The Malevolent One merely stared at me as I sprinted toward him, eyes filled with fiery hatred. As I closed in on him, I swung my mystical stake at his blood-stained head. As the blade made way through the chill air toward his face, he grinned and

ducked, missing Current's edge by a few mere inches. Our eyes connected and a chill shot up my spine. I was completely exposed without any method of blocking.

Instinctively, I leaped backward to avoid my demise by the Malevolent One's glinting blade. His blade, thirsty for blood, bounded towards me, its fangs grazing my skin as I landed. He landed behind me and I cried out, blood seeping through the hand that held my wound. The hand was not that of mine.

As I realized this I sidestepped and a hungry sword rushed through the cold air between my arm and my chest. He attempted to swing the carnivorous ocelot upwards to slice my right arm clean off but I kicked backwards and my foot connected with the Malevolent One with a deafening "CRACK" and he and his sword flew out of range. I turned around and faced the spawn of hell that worshipped the evil lord. He held his ribs where I had kicked him and apparently broken two. The balls of my feet dug into the arid ground and sprung me forward, tackling the Malevolent One and knocking his weapon away. I brought my sword up, knees on his shoulders, and stabbed downward. With the tip barely grazing his nose, the Malevolent One smacked my sword away, his immense strength overcoming my body weight.

I rolled off him and grabbed his sword from the ground. He stood up and stared at me in complete disbelief. He was unarmed. He was defeated.

"Men! RETREAT!" The Malevolent One ordered. At that Zamorak's entire army flew through the crumbling gates.
