Annie looked through the ledger, perhaps shocked, she discovered that the ledger was documenting not only expenses, and income, but a few pages had contents that were horrifying.


Ledger page 3:

Blackmace: Age:53 possibly (Quite old, Stabbed him in the heart) items taken: 1) golden sapphire necklace, two emerald rings. Sold for: 1230 gold coins.

Whitefang: Age: 43. Middle aged at least (Slit throat) items taken: 1 Silver sapphire amulet. Sold for: 900 gold coins.

Greentoes: Age: 6, I think. hard to tell the goblin tyke's age. ( Kidnapped him, Strangled him) Items taken : 1 Goblin green felt child's outfit sold for: 100 gold coins.

Goldnose: Age 15 or so, can't tell goblin ages well (Pregnant, quite rich Kicked her in the stomach until she died) Items taken 11 silver emerald necklaces. Sold 4 so far Just your friendly neighborhood gay boy!

A crowd of angry goblins gathered around Annie as she read the diary out loud. Shatterbrains grimaced at the information that Belar was translating for him. There was a look of intense hatred in his eyes. Then he sighed. "Naething ai caen du raet nao. Ai wael aesk Darkspire tae saend hiem baeck tae us. Waen maerder haeppens, goblins daent relaent aentil thae kaeller is faend, aend hacked tae maert. Paerticulaerly faer thae maerder aef a chaeld. "

Belar translated.

"He doesn't blame us for calling this city as such, because nobody uses the ancient goblin tongue anymore, not since they came under the influence of the drow, many have forgotten the ancient goblin tongue or never learned Belar translated for Annie. Just your friendly neighborhood gay boy!

Belar wasn't sure what to make of Annie's question. "Nobody will trust the drow after our betrayal of the elves. That said there are drow, like myself, who despise what the vampires offer them so much that they left Darkspire behind for the surface, those are the ones with whom to ally with." Moving on from the market, Annie's eyes were met by disheveled dwellings and additional market stalls sat up on narrow black stone streets. On the rooftops of these houses were vine roofs Goblins came in and out of the houses, some to gawk at the strange humans, others to tend to their stalls and sell their wares. One merchant appeared to be selling a heavy looking pewter ewers. Adding madness to this otherwise peaceful street were goblins wearing orange handkerchiefs, holding up posters, evidently interrogating the shopkeepers as to if they had seen someone important, or wanted, or missing. There were also plenty of barrels to hide in if needed.

Belar started counting the thugs. "12 of them" she observed "Do we obscure ourselves from them with smoke bombs, incapacitate them with those ewers from a distance, or restrain them with nature magic, I recommend using the vine roofs to do that? "

More thugs, you can sneak by them by obscuring yourself and your group with a smoke bomb, incapacitate them with telekinesis, or nature magic, or use nature magic to restrain them, and move past them? Just your friendly neighborhood gay boy!
