How did you get into reviewing? How did you become so successful with it?
When I first came here, I was struck by the lack of quality of reviews, and felt I could do better myself. Thence derived my desire to review. My so-called 'success' came from the accuracy and tone of my reviews, I guess. For reviews are not just about content: the best ones are written in an analytical, clear, and engaging way; and I believe that I managed to fulfil these better than my contemporaries. I suppose a big part of this success was delivered by my knowledge of grammar, which I have spent the best part of two years expanding.
Do you have any signatures that you could flaunt?
No. *Shifty looks.*
What advice do you have for aspiring writers?
Writing is a spell. Surrender your soul to it, and it will alight upon you with the stealth of a shadow and the grandeur of a new world. Writing fails you only when you fail it -- never give up. Clouds may obscure your view from time to time, but keep striding forth: keep trying; and one day, you will be among the best.
How have you done away with writer's block?
Never have I had writer's block. I believe it is a completely mental state. If you forget of its existence, it will not afflict you.
Are there any events on these boards that have changed your writing signifigantly?
Merely joining these boards unsealed the great vista, for me. I would not change a thing. I cannot pinpoint exactly what has moulded my writing into this manner, but surely the greatest effector is perseverence.
