Well, that's still better than nothing. I think many people who post on this forum now have transcended actively playing the game, or at least don't play it with as much frequency as they used to, so I imagine ingame rewards would hold less interest for them than the knowledge that they had been ranked as one of the top three entries anyway.

Participation was limited, I'll grant you that. But the way I see it is either it will be popular and therefore encourage Jagex to perform more of these events in the future, or it won't be popular and therefore the judges won't have felt their time has been wasted, as the number of entries would only add up to a dozen of posts.

I'm hoping that this could be used as a way to revitalise community action in this forum, but if it fails miserably I'll hold my hands up and admit I was a fool for trying. But I'd rather say that I tried and didn't succeed than wonder what would have happened if I had tried.
