Chapter 17: Dante's Future and Past

Stephanie's face expression goes into disbelief. "Don't you remember me, Dante? Don't you remember your own father?" Joshua asked. Dante downs his head and drops his Rune 2h Sword into the snow covered ground, he clutches both his fists. "N-N-No! My father is dead! Your just...an Illusion! A phantom from the dead!" Dante shuddered as he took a few steps back. It was clear to Stephanie that Dante was purely terrified at the sight of his father. "Dante, listen to me. I'm not dead or an illusion. I'm your father." Joshua said. "Don't lie to me!" Dante shouted back. Memories start to flash in Dante's head, he kneels onto the ground and grabs his head and screams, his father remains emotionless. "N-No! Your suppose to be dead!" Dante screamed. During a flashback, 7 year old Dante stands in-front of a grave with his father. "Are you..alright Dante?" Joshua asked. Dante doesn't respond, he just stands there, his eyes lost in sadness. Joshua puts his right hand on Dante's left shoulder and rubs his thumb on Dante's shoulder. "It'll be alright Dante, we'll make it." Joshua said. Dante still doesn't say anything. his eyes are lost in a forest of sorrow but yet he doesn't shed a single tear. Back in the present, Dante's body shakes greatly, Joshua sighs and walks in-front of Dante.

"Get up Dante." Joshua demanded. "Haha..hahahahaha!" Dante laughed. Dante grabs his Rune 2h Sword and stands and looks at his father face to face. Dante smirks evilly, evil thoughts run through his head yet Dante's father doesn't show emotion. Dante points his Rune 2h Sword at Joshua's neck but Joshua doesn't say anything or show any sort of emotion. "Dante...do you really think that you could kill me? I've been in more battles than you."Joshua mocked. "I don't think, I know." Dante said. Joshua draws out his Adamant 2h Sword and they both begin to fight.

Dante swings his Rune 2h Sword and aims for Joshua's neck but he counters and roundhouse kicks Dante and his right leg hits the right side of Dante's head. Joshua grabs Dante's throat with an expressionless expression. "Why Dante?" Joshua asked. "Shut up!" Dante yelled as he impaled his sword into Joshua's gut. Joshua lets go on Dante and his eyes widen, he kneels onto the ground. Blood turns the white snow into crimson red, Stephanie looks on in disbelief.

"D-Dante? Y-You-" Joshua cried out

"Shut up, you stupid jerk. You...couldn't save my mother or my beloved....no matter how hard you tried. You couldn't save mother from dying to those...people....and you couldn't save my beloved from the coma she was stuck in...I will never forgive you and I hope you burn...in hell!" Dante interrupted

"I guess...you really do hate me...heh...ah.."

Joshua falls back and hits the ground and dies, Dante grabs his sword from out of Joshua's lifeless body. The blood on Dante's Rune 2h drips off the blade and hits the ground. "Dante..you-" Stephanie said. "Quiet down or your next!" Dante yelled. He looks at Joshua's lifeless body with a sort of depressed look in his eyes. Memories flash in Dante's mind, he mumbles a few words to himself and walks back over to Stephanie. "Dante..." mumbled Stephanie. "He was my father and I remember everything...He was a coward and helpless.." Dante said. Back over with Seperadith and Ravinius, Ravinius shoots an arrow and hits Seperadith's left leg but nevertheless, he continues to run at Ravinius. He swings his Saradomin Sword to the left but Ravinius counters and shoots an arrow and hits Seperadith in the back but it wasn't in too deep. He kicks Seperadith in the back and sends him onto the ground but he quickly jumps back on his feet."Ravinius!" Seperadith yelled "Oh hush, you're becoming quite annoying." Ravinius said.

Back with Dante and Stephanie, Dante stabs his sword into the snow covered ground. He grabs his head again and gets a frightened look on his face with his dark flashbacks flowing in his head. At a scene of a massacre, 6 year old Dante is slammed and choked by a man."Poor kid, your days end here. Who's going to save you? Daddy? Mommy? Oh too bad, their both dead!" The man yelled. Suddenly, a Rune 2h Sword impales the man and kills him, it was Joshua who saved Dante. "Are you alright son?" Joshua asked. "D-Daddy?!" Dante shuddered. He runs up to Joshua and hugs him and cries.

"Daddy! I'm so scared!" Dante cried.

"It's alright, I'm here. No need to fear now Dante. I'm here for you." Joshua said to calm Dante down

"Daddy! I'm just so scared!"

"Don't worry anymore Dante, you're safe."

"Daddy! Mommy is..."

"Don't cry anymore Dante, it'll be alright."

Back in the present, Dante kneels on the ground and pants heavily.

"Dante? Are you-" Stephanie said

"I've had enough, it's time I get my revenge against all!"

The End of Chapter 17 (That's right, I already killed off Joshua
