Nao wai! O_o

Gosh, sorry for all the wait, here it is. Next chapter will appear Tuesday just to give my typing mood a break, it's been very fussy as of late. D: I'm not making any guarantees though. >_>
----
Chapter 9: Deathly Secrets

Underneath hundreds of feet of dirt lays the Catacombs of Zion, where the group of nine travel through to obtain the corpse of Zion in which their enemy intends to retrieve. As Moriah jumps back onto her feet, her heart races faster than a jet. She let air out, panting heavily. "For a moment there," she said. "I thought I was going to die!"

Lite, the warrior who's face is concealed by the coif of the ancient Barrows brother, Karil, turns to Moriah. He shook his head side to side. "No matter what," he replied. "We aren't going to let anyone die down here."

Moriah heard the reply by Lite. She drew in air into her lungs, ballooning them into two bloated bags of oxygen. As quickly as she drew it in, she lets the air out, sighing out her relief. But she quickly remembers something, when the former sun in her hand crossed briefly through the room, all the coffins, which were all wooden.

Her head quickly turns behind her, hearing the moaning and crying of the dead. She threw her right hand out in front of her, a ball of dancing flame began to form right in front of her right palm. Quickly, the flame jets out of her palm and rushed towards the wooden coffins faster than a track star.

As soon as they approached, they engulfed. They consumed the wood, binding it in it's deadly embrace. The flames latched onto all wooden coffins around the western wall where Moriah's right hand pointed like the needle in a compass. These waltzing flames brightened the place up, like the sun lights up the world around us.

This kept the group no longer blind, unable to see due to the shadow and darkness that once held this place as it's home. Thirty undead soldiers are made visible, their mouths drooling with hunger. They slowly, but surely made their way to kill the intruders that dare made their way into their master's catacombs.

Everybody readied their weapons for anything and everything, and now one hell of a hack through was about to begin.

Lite quickly charged at one of the undead soldiers, readying his Chaotic Longsword for the kill. He quickly swings his blade down onto the undead soldier, it easily blocked his attack. The soldier heavily kicked Lite in the abdominal, stunning him for just a second. The soldier readies it's axe for the head of the enemy before him.

But suddenly, the soldier halts his attack, freezing as if it were a statue. Behind the soldier was Richard, his right arm extended out in front of him, pointing directly at the soldier. In the back of the soldier's decayed skull, the back of a broad bolt stuck out from it. This gave Lite enough time to recover and dish out his own attack.

He quickly raised his Chaotic longsword, bolting towards the right side of the neck of the undead soldier before him. Quickly, the blade made contact with the decaying skin of the undead warrior. And easily, his blade cuts through the flesh of this soldier. The blade cuts through the skin, easily cutting arteries and severing veins.

Swiftly, the undead soldier's head is cleaved from the rest of his body. It flies in the air like a soccer ball, swirling and spinning. His head finally drops onto the dirt of the dead, kissing the ground. The headless body just collapses onto the floor, no longer the undead soul it once was. His axe drops onto the dirt, the golden brown dirt smothers the axe like a blanket.

Richard sighed. "This is so unneeded," he replied. "Absolutely no need for this."

Lite turns to Richard. "Well unfortunately, we're invading. But it's not us that are the threat, it's Iericho."

Modello quickly swings his blade at one of the undead, catching the soldier off guard. It's blade darts out of it's hand. Modello quickly readies his left hand, the small spikes on that fingerless glove glittered in the light like diamonds. Modello launches his fist up at the skull of the undead soldier, it charged at the undead like a torpedo.

And it made impact, right at the fleshless skull of the undead warrior. The spikes of his glove blasts through the temporal bones near the eyes of the undead's head with ease. The skull easily cracks like an egg. The soldier is thrown back, dropping onto the ground without the life it once had.

Modello turns his attention on another undead soldier coming his way, but quickly a crystal pierces the stomach of that undead, piercing out from where his large intestine would be. The soldier drops onto the dirt lifeless, from behind him was Varon. His brown irises focused on Modello as his right hand was out in front of him.

Modello's emerald green irises focus of Varon, the two stared down each other. The elf's eyes shuffle away from Modello and back onto the battle before them. Moriah had two charging towards her, a confident smirk grew on her face. "Heh," she laughed. "You guys are really dumb. You think you stand a chance against me?"

She raises her right hand, it begins to glow a ice blue. The confident smirk on her face grew up to a smile. "Ice Barrage!" she yelled. Suddenly, the undead soldiers' legs froze in place as if they were made of concrete. The undead didn't realize what had happen and tried to move, but their bodies were no longer their own.

She pointed her right index finger at the zombies. "What a damn shame," she taunted. "Looks like you are better off dead afterall." She moved her right hand over by her left shoulder, but then quickly it darted across from her left shoulder to out beside her right hip. A blade of air suddenly cuts across the bounded dead soldiers, easily cutting off the heads.

Their heads drop to the dirt, creating a swift thud as they landed. Their bodies collapses to the floor along with their heads. She crossed her arms, tying them like a pretzel. But oblivious to Moriah, an undead soldier was sneaking behind her. Modello turns his head as he impales his blade into the chest of one of the undead before him.

He notices the undead soldier sneaking behind her, readying the dagger in it's hand. Modello quickly kicks the undead soldier he just impaled to the floor, his sword pulls out as the undead soldier's body drops to the floor. Quickly and swiftly, Modello darted over to the undead soldier who was trying to sneak up on the young mage.

As quickly as Modello approaching. so too did the zombie. He quickly jump up, standing tall onto his feet. Once he arrived, Modello quickly lunged his blade into the zombie's abdominal. His blade cuts right through the zombie, letting him cry out a trembling moan of absolute agony. Moriah heard this moan from behind and spun around, facing Modello and the impaled zombie.

Modello quickly pulls out his blade. He then watched the zombie tower down to the ground, flat on his back in a silent thud. Moriah's eyes widened, surprised by the fact that she didn't hear the zombie approach her. "How the-!?" she yelped.

"Your arrogance blinds you." Modello silently replied.

"E-Excuse me!?"

"You heard me." Moriah continued to glare up at Modello, when he just gave her an emotionless look. His emerald green irises stare down the glare of the pale blue ocean. The two continued their stare down, not a single drop of noise between the two was spilt. Moriah grit her teeth in frustration, unable to figure out this guy's problem.

Daniel, Allister, Alena, and Bart stuck together, back to back fighting off the undead. Allister swings his Saradomin Longsword at the undead before him. With a giant blade in it's hand, the undead knight guards the attack, and in fact, counters. The knight spun around Allister and kicks Allister's lower back, sending him crashing onto the dirt.

The undead knight readies his blade to kill Allister with a strike of his blade to his head. Alena saw her brother was in trouble. A look of intensity and fear grew on her face. "Brother!" she yelled, pulling an arrow back on her Yew Longbow's string. The head of the arrow she was pulling back looked like a Saradomin symbol.

The arrow's head lit up with electricity, the bolts of lighting danced all over the arrow. Her aim started to become shaken, the energy of the arrow was hard to control. Without knowledge of where the arrow was going to hit, she launches it. Regardless if she didn't know, the arrow hits the head of the zombie, right on target.

As the arrow makes contact with the undead knight, the head of the knight is forced forward as it suddenly began to split apart. A swift snap cracked into the air just before pieces of brain began raining onto the ground. Shards of skull fly down like shurikens. The arrow blasts apart the zombie's head like a shotgun shot at a pineapple at point-blank range. Blood leaped into the air like a heavy rain.

There was nothing left of the knight, just it's body and bits of brain and shards of skull. The body flies about five feet from where it was originally standing. The blood coming from the opening to inside of it's body where it's head once looked like it's neck was a pipe and the blood was smoke. Alena rubs the back of her head. "Umm..." she said. "It wasn't suppose to do that..."

Allister quickly jumps to his feet. "Not much you can do now." he replied. Daniel quickly swings his thin, steel two-handed blade at the undead soldier before him. The soldier guards, blocking Daniel's attack. Daniel continued to be on the offensive, swinging his blade left and right at all possible striking points.

With it's blade horizontal, the zombie quickly pushes back Daniel's blade once it made contact. The zombie cuts his blade across Daniel's upper body. He let out a growl of pain, gritting his teeth in agony. He takes a couple of steps back as his own blood poured out onto the ground. His vision began to grow blurred. "Dammit." he growled to himself.

The zombie goes to swing another attack, but a red blade pokes out of it's chest, right where it's heart would be. Blood rushes out of the open wound as the blade twists and spins in all angles like a washing machine. The blade disappears, pulled out of the zombie. The undead soldier drops to the ground and kisses the ground as a pool of blood lays where he does.

Richard was the one who impaled the zombie as the fresh crimson that dripped down off of his blade proved. "Well, aren't you going to thank me?" asked Richard, sheathing his Dragon Scimitar. "Afterall, I JUST saved your life."

Daniel let a breath of mixed feelings, his right hand clenching onto his wound. "Thank you..." he thanked, his voice soft.

"Oh, c'mon," said Richard. "Are you honestly going to act like you're dying when you only have a mere flesh wound?"

"First time it's ever happened." he replied.

"Oh, pfft," replied Richard as if he didn't care. "Quit whining, I'm sure I wouldn't."

Bart fought an undead soldier of his own, but he only blocked. The undead soldier was using a chipped shortsword, swinging at Bart as he leaped left and right to dodge each attack. But with one jump finally was the end to the barrage of attacks, Bart plants a needle in the dirt, the sharp end stuck out. The needle lit up as the charged magic appeared like a blue aura.

"Hey!" yelled Bart. "Can't we just settle this over some discussion or something!? I'm sure we don't need to resort to violence!" The zombie swings his shortsword at Bart, who blocks with needles. "Hey Forscythe," he said. "What should I do?" Half a minute went by, and Bart got his answer from Forscythe. He shook his head up and down once and then quickly went on the offensive.

He swiftly kicked the zombie in the abdominal. The zombie drops to it's knees, and Bart backflips. But while backflipping, the front of Bart's designer brown boots hits the chin of the zombie, sending it crashing onto the ground. Bart lands on his feet flat and knows that the zombie isn't getting up. It tried to, but it's back was impaled by the needle Bart planted early.

Simple sewing needle suddenly wrapped around the zombie, tying him down and binding him to that spot. The zombie struggled to break free but couldn't, it let out an angry cry. Bart shrugged his shoulder. "Sorry," he apologized. "But this is your fault."

As the battling continued, the zombies suddenly stopped fighting. Their weapons halted, their bodies frozen. Everybody was confused, unable to understand why they stopped. One of the zombies, appearing in Steel armour without a helmet. He wore a silver cape that was tattered and ripped, and a patch over his left eye, looked towards the entrance into the next room.

The undead soldier was all bones, hardly any flesh. A angered growl came from him. "Ziiiiiin..." he whispered, his voice as chilling as death. All the soldiers turned to the pathway into the next room, a blast of cold air rushed under the skin of all that lived among the dead. A beat of sweat dripped down from Moriah, her teeth grit together.

"Zin..." she said in her head. Suddenly, an incredible pressure rushed into Modello's head. He grabbed onto his head, his teeth colliding with each other. He dropped to his knees and tightly closed his eyes. His comrades shuffle their heads over to see what had happened, there were no enemy attacks.

Moriah rushed over to Modello, kneeling down next to him to make sure he was okay. "Are you okay?" she asked, concern written all over in her voice. Modello wasn't even strong enough to reply to the one he'd always turn away. His strength was completely drained by this incredible pressure. His hands gripped tightly on his head, beats of sweat shot down his forehead like bullets from a machine gun.

"Hey!" she yelled, trying to get Modello to reply. "Are you okay!?" But once again, he still remained silent as a gentle snow fall. Modello's mind is taken to a different place, away from the reality he knew and hated. His mind whiplashes back long ago, in the vision of the great savior Zion. The young, twenty-year-old man stood in the middle of a battlefield, carcasses of soldiers laid lifeless and broken upon the dirt, staining and tainting the dirt with blood.
