Detention - who liked detention? Nobody, that was the whole point. If people enjoyed it then it wouldn't be a punishment. Still, did that make it fair that she had to share the punishment? Not in the slightest.
Shame it was part of her job.
She sat at the head of the classroom behind her desk with a book idly opened, eyes glancing over the pages in an irritated attempt to pass the time. Two hours of detention? It was as much a pain for a teacher as it was for the students. She wasn't supposed to make it obvious to them, but she wasn't supposed to do a lot of things - like be here in the first place. She wasn't supposed to be on detention duty today, but that old bag Hanslow hadn't shown up so she'd been roped into taking over. Great start to a friday evening.
Occasionally she would glance up to check on the few students stuck along with her, more for the sake of keeping up appearances than any actual attempt at stopping them from interacting - quiet chatter was near impossible to miss without the background noise of hundreds of students marching around.
