60 - A Refreshing Swim
Days of dust,
An umbrella of brown petals,
Cold water cleans the skin.
Translucent water sluiced past him, the river's steady current pulling at him with slippery fingers. An ugly fish flitted by beneath him, eyes bulging out to either side of its head like bubbles, its body a gangrenous color. As it passed him, its eyes appeared to roll up quickly before it raced upstream and Zezima wondered whether fish in the River Lum silently laughed at his slow strokes. He increased his pace.
Huckfin and Ol' jim2, two noobs in a canoe, sped past him heading downriver. It was a good thing Zezima was too absorbed in his battle upstream to notice them. They were uglier than the fish.
H(l)uckfin:This river here's gotta lead to a sea
He was standing stoically in the front of the boat as it rushed towards the unknown.
Huckfin:And over that sea, Jim, who knows what places we'll find.
Ol' jim2 was too busy wondering about the water that was filling the boat to respond.
Zezima dragged himself onwards. Arms drew back through the water, then shot forward again in a constant windmill. He was wearing full blue dragon, the perfect swimming equipment since it had hardly any water resistance. Water just streamed around him over the impermeable scales. His muscles were finally beginning to feel strain. He let the rush of water cleanse his mind.
The noobs had not invaded Lumbridge again. In fact, no news had come in from Varrock all day. A small buzzing in his head interrupted his thoughts. For a while he couldnt discern what it was, then he realized his private chat was on. He turned it off. What had he been thinking of? Oh yeah, the noobs. There had been some talk of Cheezit92 still being alive and Zezima was beginning to think that the noob leader hadn't been assassinated in the Lumbridge raid. Perhaps his elitists had been lying...
