There they heard stories of Ratherdashng who, according to accounts from tortured noobs, supposedly had a head that was continuously being consumed by flames. His army was also said to consist of fearless monks and this, unlike the stories of Ratherdashng's head, did ring true to Zezima. When rushing out of Varrock he had seen a peculiar number of noobs in monk robes, although he had not taken much notice of it then.
Long after the moon had thrown itself into the sky, Zezima sat in stillness and waited for the moment when his voice would come back to him again.
And then, at midnight, a group of runner elitists arrived at the Lumbridge gates, two falling into the newly dug spike pits. Within seconds the camp was alive with the news that they had brought. The noobs were performing a surprise attack on Lumbridge castle and would be arriving in no more than twenty minutes.

52 - An Army Divided

I sees the army go past
And me cant help thinking
"army,
army...
army?!"

-The Great Scribe, Tompayne2

Cheezit92 stepped cautiously through the door, eyeing Ratherdashng. He had told Discollama2 to wait outside the room.
Ratherdashng had surely put on some muscle since their last meeting, he looked capable of crushing a rock with his bare hands. In fact, as Cheezit92 (C)watched, Ratherdashng took a rock from a pile on the table, stuck it in his mouth, and chewed with a horrendous grinding sound before swallowing. Cheezit92's voice came out weakly under the man's fierce gaze.
Cheezit92:Uhh...hello Ratherdashng
What had happened to Ratherdashng in White Wolf Mountain? The man finished swallowing and looked at Cheezit92 for a few seconds before answering.
Dondelur:Acch, I don't be Ratherdashng
For a moment Cheezit92 was at a loss for words, then the room's door snicked close behind him and the man who had been standing behind it stepped out.
Ratherdashng:Hello, Cheezit92
Cheezit92 whirled around to find himself face to face with a man similar to the Ratherdashng he remembered. The same brown eyes peered out from a face bordered by the same brown hair, and the same mischievous smile decorated that face. But from there on out, resemblances ended. Fire spurted from his head more brightly than from Dondelur's or any others that Cheezit92 had seen, and his eyes were serious and calculating despite the smile. As for clothes, he wore the same brown robes that were common to the people of his army. At his hip a red scabbard decorated with lines of gold swung, the blue crystalline hilt of a sword protruding from its top.
Ratherdashng:I see you've met my bodyguard
Cheezit92 glanced over at Dondelur who had now acquired a steel bar and was squeezing it into a ball between his hands.
Cheezit92:I guess so, lol
Ratherdashng:No lol about him

Ratherdashng:He's quite talented with his hands
Ratherdashng:He made all of those
Ratherdashng pointed at the table which Cheezit92 now noticed was covered with figures that seemed to be made of steel and mithril. Most had been delicately molded into the shapes of butterflies or fairies, but a few humanoid statues stood out from the crowd. One made of adamant took the center of the lot, an impeccably realistic semblance of Ratherdashing, complete with burning head and monk robes.
As Cheezit92 (C)watched, Dondelur finished compressing the steel bar and added a statue of a bird to the group.
Cheezit92:Wow
Ratherdashng:Yea, and he's just as talented in battle
Dondelur didnt seem to mind them talking about him. He reached under the table and pulled out an iron bar.
Ratherdashng:How about a rune?
Dondelur :P ardon?
Ratherdashng:Try a rune bar, as a present for our guest here
Dondelur:We do only have one tho, Dashng
Ratherdashng:Use it anyway
Dondelur:As you say
He replaced the iron bar and searched under his desk for a bit before pulling up a bar that glistened a metallic green. Cheezit92 stared, transfixed.
Ratherdashng:Beautiful, isnt it?
Dondelur was already starting on it, rolling it between his hands, muscles straining. Slowly the bar gave, turning cylindrical.
Ratherdashng:Bought it off a merchant two days ago
Ratherdashng:Anyway, how went the battle of Ardougne?
Cheezit92 :O , it went well
Cheezit92:A few hundred casualties, but thats to be expected
Ratherdashng:A few hundred? Not bad.
Cheezit92:Why arent you in Lumbridge?
Ratherdashng:...
Cheezit92:?
Ratherdashng:You mean you haven't heard?
Cheezit92:Heard what?
Ratherdashng:The elitists took Lumbridge when you went tra(C)ipsing off
Anger was boiling up into Ratherdashngs face.
Ratherdashng:You left it basically undefended!
Cheezit92(C):That's no way to talk to your commander

Ratherdashng sputtered.
Ratherdashng:My commander?!
Ratherdashng:You left me alone on White Wolf Mountain!
Cheezit92:We waited for you
Ratherdashng:When we came back there was no one there!
Cheezit92:Alright, calm down
A serene quality immediately seeped into Ratherdashng's face again.
Ratherdashng:Yes, youre right
Ratherdashng:You leaving me was actually advantageous for me
Ratherdashng:Now that I think of it
Cheezit92:Why is your head on fire?
Ratherdashng:Well that's part of a long story
Cheezit92 :O k
Ratherdashng:I'll try to sum it up
Cheezit92:Alright
Ratherdashng:When we found ourselves alone on the mountain
Ratherdashng:We had no choice but to choose a path and hope it would
Ratherdashng:Lead us out of those slippery heights
Cheezit92:Uh huh
Ratherdashng:Wind was whipping at us, snow blowing
Ratherdashng:And we soon had no idea of our direction
Ratherdashng:We stumbled by chance upon a small village in the mountains
Cheezit92 :O k
Ratherdashng:It was an odd place from the start
Ratherdashng:Small, thatch-roofed cottages, cliffs surrounding it
Ratherdashng:And the people!
Ratherdashng:All peasants with their heads on fire, like Dondelur here
Dondelur looked up from his molding to give Ratherdashng a grin, the rune bar was taking on a vaguely human shape now.
Cheezit92:*m hmm...
Ratherdashng:We stayed there a night while the blizzard wore itself out
Ratherdashng:And went hunting with the village people the next day
Cheezit92:Really
Ratherdashng:Yea, it was great, but then we came back
Ratherdashng:To find our cottages burninated
Ratherdashng:A dragon lived up in the mountains it turns out
Ratherdashng :O ne the people named Trogdor
Cheezit92:K...
Ratherdashng:To make a long story short
Ratherdashng:I donned the peasant garb, and had my head lit on fire
Ratherdashng:I climbed the cliffs and slew the dragon
Ratherdashng:And he dropped this sword
Ratherdashng patted the scabbard at his hip

Cheezit92:Zzzzzz
Ratherdashng:Cheezit92?
Cheezit92:Zzzz...snrk!
Cheezit92:?
Ratherdashng:You were sleeping
Cheezit92:No I wasn't
Ratherdashng:Yeah you were
Cheezit92:Look, if u want to be second in command
Cheezit92 :D on't be so disrespectful
Ratherdashng:I don't want to be second in command!
Cheezit92:Whatever you say...
Ratherdashng:I have my own army, one bigger than yours!
Cheezit92:Zzzzzzz
Ratherdashng:Cheezit92?
Cheezit92:Snrk!
Cheezit92:?
Ratherdashng:Nvm
Ratherdashng:Anyway, I've been recruiting and waging war on Lumby
Ratherdashng:Ever since I left those mountains
Cheezit92:And how many people have you recruited for my army?
Ratherdashng:I have recruited at least 30k for MY army
Cheezit92:And what would you mean by "MY"?
Ratherdashng:The army that follows me, not you
Cheezit92 :O , I see the game you're playing
Cheezit92:You're turning against me, aren't you?
Cheezit92:You know, I'm of the mind to resign you from second in command
That would take care of the situation nicely. Now Discollama2 could still be his second in command.
Ratherdashng:I don't think you understand
Cheezit92:Are you calling me stupid?
Ratherdashng:No, I'm saying we are an army divided
Ratherdashng:Your faction and mine
Ratherdashng:And we should unite our sides to defeat the elitists
Ratherdashng:I am not your second in command
Ratherdashng:I am the leader of my portion of the noobs
Cheezit92:I'm glad you've realized that
Ratherdashng:Realized what?
Cheezit92(C):That you are not my second in command anymore
Ratherdashng:Thats right, I am not
Cheezit92:Great
Cheezit92:So I'll march the army to Lumbridge tomorrow
Ratherdashng:Yes, we should discuss war plans
Cheezit92:You want to command a squadron?
Ratherdashng:I'll just ignore that...
Cheezit92:?
Ratherdashng:We've got a surprise attack planned for tonight
Cheezit92:I just got an idea
Ratherdashng:?
Cheezit92:I'll lead a surprise attack tonight

Ratherdashng:We have to work together in this
Cheezit92:Alright
Ratherdashng:The elitists have Lumbridge well guarded
Ratherdashng:While I was out collecting troops my leaders executed some attacks
Ratherdashng:But nothing has been successful yet
Cheezit92:We should try my surprise attack
Cheezit92(C):That should work
Ratherdashng:I've also set up communications with the outcasts
Cheezit92:Especially if it's a surprise attack at night...
Cheezit92 :O utcasts?!
Ratherdashng:Yes, we'll need all the strength we can get
Ratherdashng:Baa bleety has an army of over 1000 that would join us
Cheezit92:You want to ally with outcasts?
Ratherdashng:I dont see why not
Cheezit92(C):This is a battle for noob rights
Cheezit92:If the outcasts are on our side, if...
He trailed off. If they allied with the outcasts, that would destroy the whole point of the rebellion. It was a fight for noobs to be the only people left on Runescape, there could be no middle ground, no alliances.
Ratherdashng:We can deal with them after we destroy the elitists
Cheezit92:Never!
Cheezit92:If you think I will ever ally with outcasts...
Cheezit92(C):Then you're a...
Cheezit92:You're a traitor to the noob cause.
Ratherdashng:Me? A traitor?
Ratherdashng:When it's you that lost Lumbridge to the elitists?
Ratherdashng:You that is responsible for the thousands of noobs
Ratherdashng:Murdered in Lumbridge every day after coming from
Ratherdashng:Tutorial Island?
Cheezit92:What's your point?
Ratherdashng:Get out of this castle!
Cheezit92:You don't order me around!
Ratherdashng:In my castle I do!
Ratherdashng :D ondelur, escort him out
Ratherdashng:NOW
Dondelur:Right, sar
The large man stood up from his desk and bore down on Cheezit92.
Ratherdashng:I will work with you through this battle
Dondelur grabbed Cheezit92 by the cuff and carried him, struggling, to the door.
Ratherdashng:But only because the noob army cannot stand divided

As Cheezit92 was lugged out into the hallway, he called back over his shoulder -
Cheezit92:I hope you realize, you will never be my second in command again
Cheezit92:Never!
-before the door closed and he was dropped rudely on the ground.
Discollama2 rushed over to him, glancing at Dondelur who had come out into the hallway with him before shutting the door.
Discollama2 :D id the meeting not go well?
Cheezit92:Ratherdashng is insane
Cheezit92 got up and dusted himself off quickly with short sweeping movements of his hands.
Dondelur:Gotcha sculpture for ya.
He was holding out the product of the rune bar.
Cheezit92 took it and held it up to inspect it. It was a human figure and one he knew well. Disturbingly well. With rune eyes and teeth, a perfect representation of Mr. Happy grinned up at him.
Cheezit92:Why did you make this?
Dondelur:Acch, no idea. Just felt like it.
Cheezit92:Is this some kind of a joke?
But Dondelur was already heading back into Ratherdashng's room and didn't respond. Cheezit92 pounded on the door a few times after it closed to no effect.
Discollama2 :( C)Should we go back to our army?
Cheezit92:Yea, I guess we'll have to work with Ratherdashng a bit longer
Cheezit92:But he's corrupt in the brain
Cheezit92(C):Thinks he owns the noob armies or something
Discollama2:Well everything will turn out as the Gods intend
Cheezit92:I guess so
They started back down the hallway and suddenly Ratherdashng's guards surrounded them again, escorting them off the premises. Cheezit92 looked at their dark features, their attempts to make their hoods look like they were on fire and saw what he feared most. In their solemn demeanor he saw a noob army that had lost its original motive. He saw Ratherdashng.

53 - The Author

Mr. Happy loves to smile.
Smile and kill all the while.
Happy to turn smiles to sad.
Noob inquisitions made him mad
-A(c)zraeleterni

The first fifteen minutes of their rendezvous passed mostly in silence. Base4 had said there was a secluded spot near the range building where they could talk and Mr. Happy had been following her for a while, occupying his time by staring up at the eye, staring over at the flat building, and wondering what to say to Base4.
Finally they reached the spot, a well-tended garden of various herbs with a patch of eye-meltingly bright flowers in the middle. Insects buzzed busily around the two carefully carved benches set up near the flowerbed and the small shack sitting a few paces off of the gardens eastern perimeter. (c)Mr. Happy guessed that was a gardener's shack. From within it he could hear the song of a lone fletching knife.
Base4:Nice angiospe(C)rms, arent they?
She sat down on a bench and gestured to Mr. Happy to follow suit.
(c)Mr. Happy:?
Base4:The flowers, I love them.
Base4:It's why I joined the herblore guild.
(c)Mr. Happy :O
Base4:So are you thinking of joining a guild?
Mr. Happy:I don't know
He silently cursed himself for not being able to think of something smarter to say.
Base4:I bet Sinusoidal and that lot have been pressuring you
Base4:To join the mage guild.
(c)Mr. Happy:They just showed me around the tower.
Base4 :O
The conversation petered out for a bit.
Base4:I'm sorry about last time
Base4:But I thought you knew you were a prophet.
(c)Mr. Happy:It's ok
Base4:U sure?
Mr. Happy:Yeah
Base4:I mean if I found out I was a prophet
Base4:I'd need some time to deal with it.
Base4:It's not a fun life.
A smile touched Mr. Happy's lips. It was kind of fun if your visions were of Cheezit92 dying. But that was something he thought he shouldn't divulge to Base4.
(c)Mr. Happy:It's kind of fun if your visions are of Cheezit92 dying
Had he just said that out loud?
Base4:?

Mr. Happy:Uh...I said
Mr. Happy:It can be fun if your visions aren't of people dying.
Base4 :O , I thought you said something different.
That had been close. So far, this conversation didnt seem to be going very well for Mr. Happy.
(c)Mr. Happy:Umm...nope, that's what I said
Mr. Happy:Yes, it most definitely is.
Base4:Yea, Ive heard the visions can be very graphic.
She was building up to what she wanted to ask him, her words becoming faster. The next sentence basically spilled from her mouth.
Base4:What have you seen in your visions?
Base4:Sorry if I'm being intrusive.
(c)Mr. Happy looked down at the flowers before him, watching them dance with each other. Then one of them exploded and snapped him back to the conversation.
(c)Mr. Happy :O , I don't mind.
In fact, once he got started it was very easy to continue the conversation. He told her about his vision of Cheezit92s death, of the red arrow shaft, of the lake turning into a (C)hole. He told her what he could remember of a dream of a dragon while he was wandering the Xanadian maze. He even added some appendices which briefly referenced the journey he had taken to get to Xanadu, touching on his capture by the noobs and his journey down the Xanadian elevator. (c)Mr. Happy purposely skipped the torture scene, knowing it would be too graphic.
Meanwhile Base4 sat patiently and listened, nodding at certain points of the story and looking worried at others. She seemed to lose attention throughout his appendix but Mr. Happy didnt mind. Finally he stopped.
(c)Mr. Happy:And to finish it all off that flower exploded a bit ago.
He pointed at the garden only to find himself pointing at a perfectly healthy flower. Base4 didnt seem to notice, however. She thought for a short time then said -
Base4:I think I know some of the connotations of your
Base4 :D ream in the tunnel.
Base4:The castle must have been Ardougne,
Base4:it was burned down a few days ago by the noob army.

Base4:But your second prophecy is somewhat disturbing.
Base4:Are you sure it was Cheezit92?
Mr. Happy:Who else would it be?
Base4:You saw his face, and knew who it was?
Mr. Happy:Yes, if you had been listening to my appendices...
Base4 :D oes this mean the noob army will lose?
Mr. Happy:Hopefully
Base4:What do you mean hopefully?
Base4:It would only bring the elitists back into power,
Base4:And this whole war would recur at a later time.
(c)Mr. Happy sighed.
(c)Mr. Happy:I dont think you understand
He spoke slowly to make her understand.
(c)Mr. Happy:Cheezit92. Will. Be. Dead.
Base4:I don't see what you have against Cheezit92 anyway
Mr. Happy:Everything.
Base4:?
A pause.
Base4:Anyway, Cheezit92's fall could have many meanings
Base4:It could mean a new leader for the noob army
Base4:I heard there's a Ratherdashng that might already have taken his place...
(c)Mr. Happy:Cheezit92 is in Lumbridge
He could still feel his nemesis to the southeast, a distant pull.
Base4:How do you know that?
Mr. Happy shrugged.
(c)Mr. Happy:I just do
Base4 :O k.
(c)Mr. Happy was sure she was accepting his statement only because he was a prophet. He wanted to explain his feelings to her though.
(c)Mr. Happy:I mean I can sense him
Mr. Happy:Just like I can sense the fletching knife
Mr. Happy:In the shed over there
Mr. Happy:Is that normal?
Base4:I dont know
Base4:My friend only had the visions.
(c)Mr. Happy :O
Base4:That vision could mean a lot of things though...
Again silence, punctuated only by the song of the insects. A small group of people walked past the garden talking in whispers. None of them seemed to notice him and Base4. (c)Mr. Happy decided he had to find something smart to say. The silence was too awkward. Then he had it.
(c)Mr. Happy:You know, once I wrote a story.
Base4:Really?
Mr. Happy:Yea, and the life seemed to come to characters.
Base4:?
Mr. Happy:Um...the characters seemed to come to life.
