Beyond Neeson was the one he attempted to save before, a young Daevarro stood on his own. Trying to help his comrades in his own way, Daevarro used the blinding conditions to his advantage. He had sent out all sorts of clones in order to distract the wolves, bettering his allies' chances of survival.

But the young man quickly realized that his cover may have been blown, hearing an entourage coming his way. He very quickly spun around, getting a glimpse of what was behind him. One wolf appeared out of the blinding white just ahead of Daevarro, its menacing, predatory gaze finding the young man ahead.

Yet suddenly, something else jumped out of that blinding beyond, and the young man certainly never saw it coming. He felt the force of something quite powerful hit him square in the back: the full weight of a giant, muscular beast fall on top of him. His head having a sort of whiplash effect, his body painfully crashing into the snow by this unexpected happening.

His face smashed into the frigid white, feeling it grow more numb by the second. What an agonizing descent, his head slamming into the ground rather hard. It left him rather stunned for a moment, but Daevarro had to quickly digest the situation and take action immediately, being that there was a rather large animal standing on his back.

The beast readied its fangs to burrow feverishly into Daevarro's skull, seeing the young man as nothing more but a good meal. But alas would the wolf's efforts be soundly rejected, a blade taking aim for its body. But the wolf would react to the hastening of foreign footsteps, quickly leaping off of Daevarro.

The thrust of a longsword just grazing the silvery beast, its departing gift but a mere flesh wound. Out from the white beyond was a woman in black, Libitina, trying to regain control after all that steam just to get here. Yet the previous wolf in Daevarro's sights still remained, dashing forward toward the new player.

The queen of the Lamians quickly turned herself to meet this wolf, but the wolf would meet her. It pounced viciously on top of her, readying its dominating force to completely overpower Libitina. Libitina's back would crash into the snow beneath, feeling the force and pain emit all through her body like an electric pulse.

The wolf's powerful set of teeth came bearing down in an instant, but they were prevented from meeting flesh, all in part to Libitina's blade. The assassin had quickly pulled her blade out horizontally before her as a means to defend herself, her sword wedged inside the back of its mouth.

It thrashed its head around in a frenzied manner, letting loose a slew of threatening growls and snarls. Its saliva slowly rolling off its teeth, splattering all over Libitina's face and surroundings as it struggled to get past her sword. She gripped her teeth intensely, these ruthless, vehement eyes of copper staring at her right in the face, claiming permanent residence inside her memory.

She just managed to hold it off, using all the strength she could muster to keep it at bay... but what of the other wolf she originally fended off? It slowly approached the scene, savoring this hunt as if the very last one. Still face-deep in the snow, Daevarro's hazel eyes watched on as Libitina battled for her life against that savage beast. No, he had to do something, anything!

He raised his left hand up, small specks of a strange, ethereal purple light suddenly sparked from his exposed palm. The young man then lunged his left hand forward, casting whatever magic he had at his disposal straight at the wolf on top of the assassin. The unusual glow flew through the air, hitting and conforming to the shape of the wolf ahead.

The glow disappeared inside the wolf, but its light lived on all throughout the contours of the beast. Upon the light embedding itself inside the wolf, Libitina immediately felt the fight with the wolf far less overwhelming. Whatever magic Daevarro had cast weakened the wolf to a degree, allowing the assassin to gain the upper-hand.

Libitina packed up all her strength, gathering herself together to remove the beast. She catapulted her feet foward, driving them into the lower half of the wolf's torso. The blow was powerful and overcoming, launching the beast up and away. The wolf slammed into the snow-packed earth on its back, but quickly did it manage to regain control and set itself back upon its four paws.

However, its charge back to the two was not nearly as ferocious as its previous, feeling its legs stricken with weakness. Like they were reduced to jelly, like they had fallen asleep, the wolf couldn't get itself together. This was a fortunate situation for the two on the menu, but there was still a single wolf in their presence who did not suffer from these effects.

Seeing its pack member thrown to the side, the wolf ramped up its efforts, despite its urging desire to prolong this most precious hunt. With break-neck speed did it push the pedal, speeding toward the two with such malicious, instinctive intent. Gunning for Daevarro, the wolf readied its fang to dig into the young man's skull.

Still stuck in the snow, Daevarro rolled away as quickly and as suddenly as he possibly could, leaving the wolf to taste but a mouthful of frozen water. Within this moment, Libitina came flying up to the wolf, taking a swipe at the wolf with her sword. The tip of the blade painfully slicing across the wolf's fang-bared face, and tearing asunder the wolf's left eye.

The wolf whimpered in its agony, its blood dripping down from the gruesome wound. Yet the pain only seemed to further its fury, its canines exposed to the gums, its forehead convexed over its eyes, its tail raised up and shaking to profess its rage. It stared directly upon Libitina seemingly with absolute malice, rumbling violently.

Daevarro had swiftly managed to his knees, preparing his dagger in his right hand and a ball of fire in the other. But it was as though the wolf were familiar with such sorcery, not being scared off by the flame's sudden appearance. But suddenly, Libitina became the target, feeling quite a load of pain flare up upon her left leg.

With a vivid grimace on her face, her crimson eyes scrolled down, finding that wolf from before burrowing its teeth into her leg. Daevarro was frankly shocked by the wolf's rather quick recovery, knowing that it should've been down at least a little bit longer than that. Its target immobilized, the visage-wounded wolf propelled its body onward, intoxicated by the sweet scent of blood.

The dark-robed young man had to quickly react to this most frantic of situations, briskly hurling his fireball at the injured wolf. The fireball caught the wolf head-on, burning its skin bare and raw and setting its fur alight. It was temporarily stunned, attempting now to shake off the horribly burning pain which tormented it.

Seeing a chance, Daevarro then quickly rushed over to the wolf attacking Libitina, flipping his dagger to a reverse-grip. With his eyes closed, Daevarro repeatedly stabbed that black-metal dagger into the wolf, continuing on and on until its jaw finally pried loose. The wolf finally let go, toppling over upon the ground below.

Seeing as its comrade had fallen to the humans, the face-wounded wolf bolted off to its right, disappearing inside the white beyond. As snow waltzed in a beautiful, swirling dance, the wolf began circling them, trying to pick the best place to attack. Daevarro did his best to offer what support he could, forging a clone of Libitina and himself rushing off to their left.

Through its impaired vision, the prowling wolf would find these two clones, giving them chase. With lightning speed did the wolf catch up to the two, but all did not appear as they seemed. Suddenly from that deceptive white came a guillotine, the head of an axe savagely hacking into the flesh of the pursuing beast.

A nauseating sound came as it cleaved through, this axe which created a barbarous, uneven cut. Droplets of blood scattered like cherry blossoms, the head of this face-damaged wolf cast off into the distance. Where it landed just happened to be near Daevarro's feet, an occurrence which nearly stopped the young man's heart in its place.

Just a whiff of that rancid death was enough to turn Daevarro's stomach upside down, his skin fleeing the scene, soaked with a cold sweat. Stepping forth from the fog wall was death's deliverer, the hooded old man Neeson, drenched in the blood of multiple victims. Daevarro remained reclusive, yet an inner sense urged him, encouraged him to speak.

"...Uh, thank you," the young man thanked, slowly and hesitantly fixating his hazel eyes upon the empty-faced Neeson.

Daevarro's grateful expression appeared to hit a stone wall, for the hooded old man's mind fell elsewhere. His callous, icy-blue eyes finding Libitina, examining her hunched-over position, her pain-gripped face. Scrolling his eyes further downward, he found her clenching onto the source of her suffering, this rather nasty looking bite wound upon her left leg.

Without pause or consideration, Neeson moved closer to her, understanding the potential severity of her injury. He then began to lift her up off her feet, carrying her in his arms. Libitina's grimaced face gazed up upon the hooded old man, agitated. "...What are you doing?" her agonized voice angrily whipped out a question.

"Getting you out of the way," his gravelly voice did state, rather insulting to whom it was delivered to. Yet Libitina appeared to accept it, a harsh truth was still a truth nonetheless. Given her condition, the assassin acknowledged the old man's words as correct. How strange things had become, as the past few battles have been fraught with injury. Was she losing her touch? Was something changing?

Evidently, it would be both, the assassin realizing this as Neeson sprinted ahead to safety. Her head flipped from her left to right, her crimson red irises gazing upon a plethora of shadow clones from which Daevarro wrought. As snowflakes zoomed by, Libitina knew the truth... She fine-tuned her ears, opened her eyes, yet it was not the same as before. Indeed, it would seem she had begun to lose those godly powers which once made her a truly feared assassin.

Beyond those three was another group, a pair in fact. Both Raphael and his old master stood back-to-back, being caught in the heart of an encircling. Multiple feral wolves surrounded them still, despite bodies of fallen members of their pack growing around the two. The beasts ran in circles around the two, looking for a most opportune time to strike.

Both Malik and his young pupil stood steadfast, holding their breath, their bodies became as one. But Raphael couldn't help but to notice something different about his mentor, taking notice of his more combative stance. How strange, so accustomed to seeing Malik standing tall, calm and refined as though a nobleman about to do battle.

"What's with that stance?" the silver-haired prince humorously pointed out, playfully smug, reminiscing on days of old. "You actually look like a normal person now."

"Standing like this offers less stress on my back," Malik lightheartedly returned, sharing in his pupil's playful comedy.

"You've finally decided to start acting your age, huh?"

Malik then lightly chuckled. "Ah, perhaps one day," the old master would throw back.

"The day you're in your death bed, I'd wager," Raphael joked, putting a smirk on his old master's face.

Their joking was then suddenly cast aside, for the wolves had descended upon them. They pierced through the white veil, their silvery white fur coated in blood, saliva hanging and whipping off their teeth. In unison, the group of three attacked, two on one side, and one alone on the other. As blinding as these conditions was their speed, kicking up snow, ferociously stampeding towards their target.

Feeling an instinctive sense of danger well up inside, Raphael and Malik waited... and waited. The vicious threat drew closer and closer to them, until finally the wolves were nearly on top of them. Suddenly, the two split apart from one another, no longer attached at the back.

A true testament of their relationship, having conceived the same plan without even a use of words. The master and his pupil unexpectedly rolled forward in one single, simultaneous, lucid motion. The wolves took note of this change, trying to hit the brakes in the middle of the heat. Headlong into their rush for blood, the wolves collided, feeling the sting of the painful clash of their skulls.

Having dodged the wolves' attack by way of a forwards roll, both Raphael's back and that of his master's fall into the fluffy white below. A soft crunch emitted beneath them as they hit the ground, very briskly regaining control of themselves. They needed to capitalize on the wolves' stunned condition, left dazed and confused after slamming into one another.

Raphael and Malik quickly got to their knees, then onto their feet, the excess snow upon them falling off as they stepped ahead towards the distracted wolf trio. But the wolves regained their senses, recovering from the crash, ready to kill once more. Two picked on Malik, whom was declared the weaker of the two.

The other wolf went for Raphael, and utilizing its nimbleness, it quickly swung around to his back. At full steam, the wolf bolted towards Raphael's back, its ferocious fangs ready to pry Raphael's leg apart. But the silver-haired prince was more than ready, very swiftly hopping off to his right, forcing the beast to taste nothing but air.

But the beast aggressively pursued the young man, charging at him. But Raphael anticipated this wolf's rabid course of action, launching his right leg upwards as though attempting a punt. A powerful blow, the tip of his boot crushing the underneath of the wolf's jaw, its teeth smashed together in an agonizing clang.

The wolf whimpered pitifully, but Raphael smelt an opportunity, on the cusp of victory against this beast. He readied his blade, lunging it steadfastly into the front of the stunned wolf's body. The blade penetrated the beast's flesh, sullying its once gorgeously white fur with the putrid taint of red. Raphael then retrieved his embedded blade, ripping it out like a sword in stone.

The blood ran loose and wild, the beast cried out. The rush of adrenaline draining from his veins, Raphael felt this quietus, this coup de grâce be delivered. But even despite this hideous, mortal blow, the beast lashed out. It felt Raphael as a threat to its family, and so it pressed on.

With its canines bare and its eyes deathly aglare, the wolf made one final attack, giving it its absolute all. Its threw itself at Raphael, catapulting forward with its front paws outstretched ahead of it. This attack took Raphael completely by surprise, the full weight of this large, bulky wolf coming completely down upon him.

His face ran with shock, his teeth fastened together, a bullet of cold sweat rolling down his skin. His back thundered into the snow again, desperately placing his sword up as a last means to defend himself. Even with this terrible loss of blood, the wolf wildly flailed its head around, trying with all its might to get past Raphael's guard.

Amidst its feral, blood-thirsty barks and growls and rapid clamps of its powerful jaw, Raphael could just barely hold off this maddened beast. His biceps thickened with might and exhaustion, giving it his all until the wolf's wound overcame it. But it seemed such a happening was eons away, for time felt instant yet as drawn out as eternity.

Like rock did his strength begin to crumble, faltering just as pillars to the corrosion of time. Standing over him was Lamia, watching this desperate struggle to maintain life. Even she had begun to portray concern, Raphael's arms beginning to move to the will of the thrashing beast. But as fate would have it, this frozen hell would not be his place of death.

Raphael was delivered from this death, so distracted was the dying beast that it did not sense this incoming. Malik had suddenly came charging in like a freight train, swinging his right leg upwards and dishing out a remarkably effective blow. His boot crashed into the side of the wolf's skull, sending the beast violently toppling over.

The wolf laid there on its side, motionless, perhaps finally accepting of its fate. It bled out onto the snow, its shallow, hard breath a misty display, its mouth agape, its body no longer able to move. It simply just stared, beaming with such resentment upon the two humans in its presence.

Raphael felt the weight of the world lifted, unable to believe his luck. His panicked breathing slowing, regaining feeling in his stomach again. His heartbeat, though still fraught with the fear of death, very slowly decelerated. His purple eyes averted upwards, finding a hand of support reaching down.

He followed the arm outstretched, finding his master standing there, lending his aid. His appearance was rather perplexing however, the fact that he managed to take on those two wolves on his own. It was quite impressive, if not a little questionable. But without a doubt, this young man was certainly not complaining.

Raphael took hold of that hand, being pried out from that snow that he had increasingly believed to be the soil upon his grave. Standing up on these legs which shook without relent, Raphael glanced upon his master with a newfound sense of gratitude. "Good timing," the young man complimented. "Thanks for the save."

"Are you all right?" Malik then proceeded to ask, worried over his pupil.

"Yes," Raphael replied, but then the young man appeared distracted, like something had laid claim to his mind. This thought drove him mad, pushing him to scour across the area. The white sheet blanketing his surroundings had tapered off a bit, allowing his vision to at least cover ground more than a couple of feet away.

"What goes on?" Malik then questioned, taking notice of his disciple's rather unusual series of actions.

"Telvern," Raphael named in a spiteful tone. "Instead of sticking around, he decided to run off somewhere."

"Are you certain that he ran?" the old master attempted to feed his pupil some thought. "I can imagine one can become very easily lost under these conditions."

"It doesn't matter," the silver-haired prince dismissed his master's words, giving him a rather earnest look. "Either way, I need to find him."

"Do what you must," Malik replied with a subtle hint of disapproval. "I'll find the others and assist them."

"Be careful, Master Malik,"

"You too,"
