Exterminator
A large, heavily-armoured fellow, whose job is to exterminate pests, Ghouls, mutated animals or plants, or anything else that needs eradicating, such as troublesome people. They wear armour so that dangerous animals or man-eating plants are less likely to injure or kill them, and they wield a large-bellied device that releases poisonous gas or powder or liquid, quicklime, fire, smoke, or whatever else is needed. They also have at least two grenades, that release whatever harmful substances upon detonation. If all that fails, the Exterminator uses a dagger to finish-off whatever needs killing.

Medic
The Medic wields a Medigun, a peculiar device that unleashes some sort of chemical reaction, which follows the target and heals wounds. The device seems to greatly amplify cellular division, causing rapid healing. Medics are also armed with a Needle Gun, a weapon that fires little syringes that cause bleeding, and a bone saw when things get up-close and personal.

Flamer
Someone trained in the use of a flamethrower, usually a soldier.

Pyro
Wearing a full body fire-retardant suit, and armed with flamethrower, three grenades of some sort, shotgun and fire axe, Pyros are intimidating close-quarter combatants. However, their masks muffle their speech so much, they cannot be clearly understood.

Alchemist
A scientifically-minded fellow, popularly known for creating various potions, explosive or combustible or acidic liquids, medicine, poisons, and who knows what else. They are also capable of repairing just about anything, and are master engineers, technicians, inventors, and hackers.

Steampunk Robot
Steampunk Robots are rather primitive compared to truly cybernetic, computerized machines, or androids. Nevertheless, Steampunk Robots are still capable of doing whatever they were programmed for! How exactly such a robot is programmed, without even basic computer software, is something of a mystery, but it seems capable of simple reasoning and learning. Perhaps even robots have a soul?

Spy
I Spy with my little eye! The Spy's wristwatch enables cloaking at will, and the Spy can also disguise himself as anyone. He does this by wearing a paper mask, fooling everyone into seeing him as whatever he is disguised as. He also has an uncanny ability to instantly kill just about anything with his butterfly knife, so long as he stabs the back. Also armed with a large revolver, and can attach Sappers to electronic devices to gradually destroy them.

Plague Doctor
Someone who heals the sick. The beak of the mask is filled with herbs and flowers, to offset bad air. Ironically, despite their good intentions, Plague Doctors are kinda creepy. Immune to sickness.

Cerebraloid
A robot made in the likeness of a human, Cerebraloids are installed with a human brain. This synthesis of brains and robotics allows the Cerebraloid to have emotions, learn, and behave surprisingly human-like! They were created to be hunters and soldiers to support people, but quickly developed individuality and self-awareness. But, is it just a robot, or still an actual person?

Plasma Engineer
An engineer who is trained to use a Plasma Cutter, a powerful tool designed to cut through huge chunks of metal or stone. Such engineers are rare and valuable, as they can use their skills not only for welding or plasma cutting even underwater, but also for mining and sabotage. Since plasma is a very dangerous substance, Plasma Engineers wear protective full body exosuits to protect from the intense heat. Their suits allows them to be underwater at least for up to a few hours. Of course, Plasma Cutters are devastating improvised weapons...

A humanoid affected by vampirism, they are quasi-undead, crave the blood of humanoids, and possess enhanced strength, senses, stamina, hardiness, and magical potential. Direct sunlight hurts their skin and eyes.

Raven
Little is known about the enigmatic Ravens. They seem to be professional agents of murder, who kill crime lords, Witches, vampires, terrorists, corrupt politicians and policemen, and anything else they deem necessary to assassinate. They possess supernatural abilities, allowing them to become invisible in shadows, as well as induce paranoia to nearby people.

Forsaken
Mysterious children left abandoned... who could do such a thing? The Forsaken are accursed children who can never grow up, locked in a state of constant mourning, sadness, depression, loneliness, and fear. These ageless children look forlorn and lonely, capable of inducing mercy and pity, but in reality, they are actually some of the most terrifying forces to behold. Unaware of what their curse actually is, what ever could it be?

Mandalorian
Peculiar for their rocket-launching jetpacks, Mandalorians are often bounty hunters, or paid to harass, threaten, waylay, kidnap, incapacitate, or assassinate people for money. Ruthless and brutal, for them, loyalty only comes from money. However, Mandalorians can also be mercenaries, soldiers, bodyguards, or adventurers, and have a reputation for being exceptional fighters in all forms of combat.

Biomechanoid
Unusual beings who have synthesized with machinery, it is unclear whether Biomechanoids are something in-between living and machinery, or an absolute combination of the two. They do not need to eat or drink much, but they do need any kind of oil as additional fuel. They do not need to sleep or rest, seem unable to drown, and feel very little pain. If dismembered or even beheaded, can still survive, so long as the parts are put back together within a few hours.

Industrial Knight
Very heavily-armoured steampunk warriors, Industrial Knights are rightfully feared for being trained since childhood to be nothing other than killing machines. They are fearless, aggressive, impulsive, excellent fighters with guns, medieval weapons, and hand-to-hand combat. Unlike most other gunslingers, Industrial Knights (usually) wield energy-based guns.

Their armour can withstand conventional small arms, melee weapons, and shrapnel, but high-powered, military-grade firearms can shoot through at close range. However, so much armour means they are considerably slower, less mobile, less accurate, and have less visibility compared to unarmoured characters.

Caniformian
A race of highly evolved bipedal canids, they are usually a little smaller than humans, but have adapted to the human world. They possess nearly endless stamina, and are very good at ambushing, stalking, and have excellent body language skills with other Caniformians. Padded feet makes their footfall quiet, and helps absorb some impact from falls. Having large muzzles, they pack quite a strong bite.

Vulpes
Highly evolved bipedal foxes, who have adapted to the human world. They usually do not grow more than four feet tall. Possessing nearly endless stamina, Vulpeses are intelligent, crafty, sneaky, graceful, and precise in their movement and guile, and can jump much farther than expected. Having padded feet allows them to walk quietly, and absorbs some impact upon landing. Despite their graceful nature, Vulpeses are messy and noisy.

Ironclad
Encased in metal, Ironclads are invulnerable to conventional weaponry and shrapnel. Their suits are also empowered by magic that induces endless amounts of energy, allowing the suit to work with the body, and the gauntlets can unleash masses of energy. Ironclads are also capable of short-term diving, but their suits will run out of oxygen after an hour or so.

Ironclad Behemoth
A much larger suit than typical Ironclads, standing at about ten feet tall and weighing a tonne. More space means it contains more air for underwater situations, lasting up to a few hours.

Crimson Dragoon
Long ago, these ''dragoons'' seem to have been China's best officers who were also special forces units, trained from birth in guile, espionage, sabotage, infiltration, assassination, martial arts, and swordsmanship. Their Hei Gui stealth armour has an in-built cloaking device, which makes them almost invisible. The descendants of these Chinese special forces continued the legacy of their ancestors, and have not forgotten their duty to scour and spy America. They send their footage and reports back to China, even though the war has ended five hundred years ago.
This class consists of Chinese spec ops men and women.

Techpriest
Forsaking one's own flesh, blood and body, a Techpriest transfers one's mind into a mechanical structure, living on as a mind-operated machine-like construct, which is still capable of preforming magic. They can connect to other machines, robots and androids, and communicate with them both magically and technologically, even reprogram them.

Power Trooper
Not all who wear Power Armour are part of a major faction or military. They may be Wastelanders, Vault Dwellers, outcasts, treasure hunters, or adventurers, who knows? They have acquired Power Armour by all sorts of means, from scavenging to stealing, reconstructing to repairing, and often customize these rare, heavy, supremely protective suits. Although not a guarantee to be a professionally-trained soldier, anyone who wears Power Armour is virtually invulnerable to conventional weaponry. When wearing Power Armour, wearers are slower, less mobile, less accurate, and have less visibility.

Characters of the Surface
These character types and classes are usually part of the post-apocalyptic surface of America. They are the descendants of the survivors of the Nuclear Holocaust: the nuclear war that nearly eradicated all life in the world. Varying in abilities and capabilities, but they potentially have access to some of the best technology available, scavenged from the ruins of modern North America.



Wastelander
They live in the wastes beyond cities, sometimes forming into tribes of like-minded fellows. Usually lawless and brutal, but hardy and tough. Accustomed to travelling, hunting, ranching, stalking, trading, fighting, and survivalism, they are quite independent, capable of surviving harsh conditions many others could not. They may be capable of riding horses, making and driving makeshift vehicles, have pet dogs, and can form caravans.

Wasteland Warrior
When Wastelanders call themselves warriors, you know you're dealing with some of the meanest, toughest sons of bitches around. They often wear scavenged, stolen, or makeshift armour, and are aggressive and stealthy raiders, skirmishers, and ambushers. Exceptionally sturdy and hardy, proficient in all forms of combat and ambushing. However, the heavier and fuller armour they wear, the less speed, mobility, agility, accuracy and visibility they have.

Road Warrior
Road Warriors have acquired or built a vehicle, and roam the roads and terrain, which obviously gives them a huge advantage in transportation, but the vehicles can also be used as mobile platforms for gunfighting, hunting, scouting, and exploration. However, Road Warriors are reliant on their vehicles, and so lack the true hardiness and survivalism of old-school Wastelanders. Road Warriors also know basic engineering and are mechanics, two necessary skills to operating and maintaining makeshift vehicles.

Vault Dweller
Citizenry who have lived in Vaults since before the Nuclear Holocaust began, they tend to be educated, benign, hardworking, and productive. Being educated since childhood and raised with Vault-Tec technology, they are useful technicians, engineers, hackers, and are literate. However, they lack experience outdoors, reliant on supplies and storage to survive. Vault Dwellers are sometimes cyborgs, and tend to have an affinity to dogs.

New California Republic
Often referred to as the NCR, the Republic expanded into a presidential, democratic government throughout Colorado, of which Hoover Dam is their main outpost. Having repaired Hoover Dam into working condition, it now supplies water to many cities. Expansion means that the Republic's troopers are sometimes sent on long expeditions and campaigns. Often wear helmets with night-vision goggles, making them useful for nighttime fighting and skirmishing. The NCR is at war with the Brotherhood of Steel and Europa.
