She bit her lower lip and glanced around the bar. Her hair was beautiful, so beautiful, in fact, that Alex had to resist his urges to reach out and touch it. It was black, like her robes, and quite short in comparison to Elizabeth's. Just as her robes were trimmed in crimson, this woman's hair was finely tinted with red, more noticable in the correct lighting. Alex had to swallow the build-up of saliva in his mouth.
A streak of blue hair framed her face, and she pushed a strand behind her ear before she spoke again, much louder this time. "Do you serve Wizard's Mind Bombs?"
"Ah," the bartender snapped. "So, you're one of those fancy out-of-towners who prefer fancy drinks. Sorry, pretty lady, I can't serve you any of those funky cocktails. I sell beer. Plain and simple beer. Either deal with it or leave."
"Oh," she blushed, "I can have one of those, I guess." She pulled that strand of hair away from her face again as she paid. Nervously, she watched as the bartender turned to fill her glass, occasionally glancing to Rhody and Alex.
The moment her eyes caught Alex's, he froze. They sparkled in the light like two freshly cut emeralds. Such a beautiful color were her eyes, that when she smiled at Alex, he was too hypnotized to return it.
"There 'ya go," Bart said as he handed her a tall glass of ale. "Enjoy yourself, but be on your guard. I can only spend so much time protectin' a pretty girl like you from overly-drunken men."
"Thank you," she nodded and gracefully strode over to a table near a window.
Alex shook his head to regain consciousness and a thought process. "Wow."
Rhody set his empty glass on the bar. "Hit me up, Bart." As the bartender refilled his glass, Rhody asked, "Now, before we were interrupted by the girl who - judging by the look on Alex's face - might save my daughter from marrying Alex and spending the rest of 'er life as a servent, you were talking about that guard in the corner, right?"
