Guthix went inside, this time his mother was home she then said, “You are leaving aren’t you son?” Guthix then said, “Yeah, mom I am leaving. I have to make sure the Clair the Paladin girl safely gets across the Salve River. I will be returning after I help her, I won’t be gone forever mom.”

Guthix walked over towards his bed and put the knapsack of stuff with his other knapsack his mother said, “So you are going to try to be a hero again for this girl. Stay safe, there are lots of things in the world that may try to kill you and her until she is out of here. Even when you are trying to return they may try to kill you.”

Guthix then said, *I don’t plan on dying mom, I will return safely you don’t have to worry about that.” Beth then said, “Just remember your secret; I will assume you haven’t told this Paladin girl what you are. You are a pure werewolf, both your father and I being werewolves. You will be stronger than most vampires and none pure werewolves but this will also be a thorn in your side if the Paladin girl learns you are a werewolf. As you know most people even here in this camp are judgmental of werewolves and vampires. People tent to throw all of them into the Zamorak worshiper category without questioning them first, remember that.”

Guthix did know this already but he now was thinking about it more, since he just realize he will be traveling with someone that has armor that can burn him just by a single touch. Keeping this a secret is important for his safety but it will be hard to keep it secret because of the Paladins armor. Guthix then said, “All I have to worry about is the girl’s armor, other than that I don’t even know how to transform into the form of the werewolf you told me about…”

Beth then said, “You will be surprised what you can do if your life depends on it. Please return to me alive.”

Guthix said he would then he left the tent and left for the elder’s tent yet again this day. The elder was waiting outside for Guthix and then said, ‘Guthix come inside my tent I have something for you.”

Guthix went inside the tent and the elder followed him inside as well. In the center of the room where the rocking chair was before was a pretty big chest. Guthix then asked, “What is inside that chest great elder?” The elder smiled and said, “Open it my dear boy, to find out what is inside.”

Guthix did as he was instructed, Guthix opened the chest to find inside were several items. There was a sleeveless leather vest, a pair of leather gloves and boots, and a steel long sword with an emerald pommel and a guard with the engraving with symbols on it.

The old man said, “I thought I should give you some going away presents for your trip that you are going to be going on. The gloves, boots and that vest, I gave them a special enchantment they should stop the Paladin’s armor from burning you if the armor touches the leather. The sword is has been enchanted, it is not like the paladin’s sword you used but it will work. The enchantment makes the blade sharper and harder than a normal steel sword. Just be careful not to cut yourself with your own sword. You may be able to heal wounds but the sword will cut through as if you are butter.”

Guthix then said, “Thank you camp elder, this is very thoughtful.” The camp elder then said, “This will increase your chance of survival slightly. It is also away for me to help you, there is one more thing I want to give you.’ The elder lifted up his own hand and pulled off a huge ring of his finger then said, “I want to give this blessing of Guthix. When all seems lost, when you are out of choices, when it looks like nothing is going to save you. This ring is supposed to save you I have had this ring over a hundred years. Over all those years I haven’t had a need for the ring to save me, and I believe you will have a better use for it.”

Guthix took the ring it was against his judgment to take the ring, but he wasn’t about to argue with the camp elder.

Guthix left back to his tent and quickly changed his clothing into his new leather armor the packed his clothing into his knapsack. Guthix put the arrows he had just bought in his quiver and he noticed in his other bag that he had before had some more stuff that he did*’t put in it. There were three bottles of mead in it. He smiled as he knew his mother must have put them in his bag. Guthix had taken off the quiver and put the sword scabbard’s sling over his shoulder and slide it on so the scabbard was on his back.

Guthix had left his tent and then asked around, he had found Clair’s armor, and sword then he carried it to the medical tent. Clair was in the room still alone, she saw Guthix enter with her armor. Guthix was holding it in his gloves. Guthix was happy the enchantment on them was working for him and he now had one less thing to worry about.

Guthix laid the armor on the bed to the left of Clair she said after Guthix laid the armor and sword down, “I see you found my armor, and I see you’re in some new gear as well. You now look less of a druid and more of an adventure.” Guthix then made up a quick lie and said, “I’m not a druid, I haven’t gone through the rite of passage yet to become a druid…”

Clair smiled and said, “Well, anyway thanks for getting my stuff that I still have left. I would have gotten up and went looking for my stuff, but you know if any of your friends sees me walking we would have to leave today instead of tomorrow morning. I am glad you came back, it is very quiet here in this tent.”

Guthix then said, “Well, I know it can be kind of quiet here in the camp, but as long as it stays quiet it means we are safe.” Clair noticed Guthix’s sword on his back and commented by saying, “I wouldn’t peg out as a swordsmen. Actually I wouldn’t think anyone here in this camp are the violent types.” Guthix then said to her comment plainly, “Well I normally only use a hunting bow, the only things until recently I have fought are small game. That was until I fought those vampires not too long ago…”

Clair started laughing hard then said, “I knew it! Don’t get me wrong but I pegged you off from the start as someone who has never fought before! I still don’t understand how you were able to save me from those vampires even with the use of my sword. I am grateful you did but it doesn’t make any sense…” Guthix answered her by saying, “It was by the god of balance’s will that I was able to save you.” He was trying to get her to change the subject he then said, “So we will be leaving tomorrow morning, I should go rest up seeing how this might be the last bit of good sleep the both of use might get until this journey is over.”

She agreed with him and Guthix left the room and went back to his room to get some rest.
