Chapter 17 – Enemies cant be Lovers
Taran was sweating. He was used to combat, but he was worried – APPARENTLEY the LOD elites were not protecting the Lords, but he wasn’t so sure. Also, he had never done an assassination mission – stealth was not something he could manage. He furthered this untrusting belief in his own capabilities when he managed to tread on a twig, loudly snapping it. Emmerai gave him a light thump. “Idiot, keep it down!” Squad A was made up of Emmerai, Taran, Kaitia and Karenzi, who was looking after the slightly injured Kaitia. Squad B was led by Ransar, with Darklago and Armenk at his side. Squad A was to break in quietly and let Squad B in through another entrance.
As soon as Squad B were in, Armenk would leave the others to it and return to Falador. Taran took a breath, drew his Rune two handed sword and lunged at the two door guards.
Five seconds later, the guards were dead. Taran rushed inside and beheaded the third. The others followed him in and they wandered down the corridors, taking out the odd guard without facing much resistance. They moved into the library and memories of conversations with Reldo flowed into Kaiti*** mind. She felt sad. Reldo had been locked up when the war started and she missed the intelligent conversations they had had. She refocused and remembered to stick close to Karenzi. Emmerai fired two bolts round the corner, hitting both guards in the head. “Karenzi, secure the door. Signal to Squad B.”
Before long they were upstairs. It was strange…there were no guards about. Then they found the corridor. At the end of the corridor was a massive door with a Zamorakian colour scheme and the letters “Lords Chamber” printed onto the door. Everyone drew their weapons and got ready. Ransar turned around. *Ok, this is it. Get ready to barge the door. 3, 2, 1, GO!” They all charged into the door and it broke open easily. They spread out across the room, only to find it was empty.
