Gender: Male
Approximate Wolf Age: 2
Appearance: Azure is a bit small for an adult wolf but this is due to a genetic defect. Azure's fur black though it is has a slight purple hue thus his name. His eyes are a solemn, thoughtful brown.
Personality: Azure is a dedicated and thoughtful wolf. He puts the needs of others before his own but always seems a bit distant, as if always looking for something or someone
Pack Alliance: Zanix's Pack
History: Azure was the biological son of one of Bloodwolf's enemies, Silas. Silas, who valued only physical strength saw only weakness in his own son and thus left him for dead until the intervention of Bloodwolf. Since that day Azure was taken in by Bloodwolf and Zanix and cared for greatly. Since that time Azure has become stronger in bother mind and body and has grown to be a powerful Alpha-male in his own right.
Other: Now Alpha of Zanix's pack and adopted son of Zanix and Bloodwolf.

Approximate Wolf Age: 1
Appearance: Malaban's fur is snowy white like his mother's and grandfather's whom is his namesake. Malaban's eyes are a deep crimson which hide malice and hatred.
Personality: Malaban is crafty and devious. Some would go as far as evil to describe some of Malaban's actions.
Pack Alliance: Seth's pack
Other: Son of Seth and Luna. Malaban has a sister Mareni whom does not share his views.

Everything that Azure had known the last two years was now gone. He had no one to guide him or be there for him. Now he was the Alpha and although he knew how to lead, he could not for he knew not what to do. The pack's territory was gone, burned to the ground, the pack was without a home now. Azure pondered for a moment and realized that perhaps it was time to visit Seth and ask for assistance.

Although not related by blood, Seth was in a way, Azure's uncle. With territory now lost and food scarce in the old hunting grounds, Azure had little choice but to turn to his would be uncle for help. So after a vigil for *ani*, sending her spirit on its way to the stars, Azure gathered the pack and lead them from the drying river and into the territory of Seth.

As the pack traveled Azure listened in the silence for anything upon the winds to life their spirits. But sadly the winds were silent this day and it seemed that they had been since Bloodwolf had passed. The was the occasional breeze but nothing which brought the songs which guided Bloodwolf. The journey though not far from the river, seemed long in the silence until the pack neared Seth's camp.

Camp guards approached Azure and he explained what had happened before saying that he needed to speak to Seth. Azure's pack made themselves comfortable for the time being while Azure walked further into the camp taking a seat near a boulder in the center to await Seth.

~Both Zanix and Bloodwolf are gone. Two great heroes of the forest now rest in the stars. I shall do what I can to live up to their deeds though I will not seek to be them. But I shall honor their deeds and make sure that none forget, they deserve that much.~ Azure thought to himself looking at the hazy sky.

Azure would not be kept waiting long for the green-eyed pack leader. He had observed the smoke, but had not wanted to chance his own wolves trying to find out what had happened, certain his sister would understand. When his guards informed him that the homeless pack was awaiting, he wasted no time. Seth called for his son and Beta, and trotted out of camp towards Azure, all the while his eyes scanning for any sign of his sister.

"Azure! It is good to see you, though I wish it were not in such dire times!" He halted, dipping his head to his nephew. "I was told you are speaking for *ani*. Has the smoke made her ill? Is she badly injured? We have food and rest for all of you, and she and all your injured will be placed in the care of our best healers." His gaze travelled to the former Beta's injured leg. "Yourself included, obviously."

Malaban bid his father's call and followed after Seth as he went to meet with Azure. As usual a smug look rested on his face and he walked with arrogance. Malaban hated how his father lead, it made him sick in some ways. But, when his father offered to assist Azure and his pack Malaban though he would vomit then and there. But despite his inward feelings he held it in.

~Why should we help them? We barely have food enough for ourselves with this drought. Yet father is giving away our food. It makes me sick. How can father expect this pack to remain strong is we give away supplies to any pack needing help.~ thought Malaban.

Azure was about to tell Seth what happened, but when he mentioned Zanix, his heart sank. Azure turned his gaze away from seth and dropped his head.

''Zanix is.......I'm sorry Seth....'' muttered Azure, tears beginning to form in his eyes unwilling to look his uncle in the face. ''A tree limb fell on my leg while we were evacuating and Zanix stayed behind to help me. I told her to leave me as I would be fine being younger but her kind heart would not have it. We made it across the river and........I'm so sorry Seth.''

Seth felt his throat tighten. He nodded in understanding, unable to get any words out. After swallowing several times he spoke with an unstable voice. "I see. She loved her pack very much. She loved you even more. Any doubt about that should be gone by now, if it ever existed." He bowed his head for a moment out of respect for the dead she-wolf.

"Don't blame yourself for it, Azure. No amount of argument could've gotten Zanix out of the camp while you were still trapped. She would've died beside you sooner than abandon you, that's just who she was. I'm guessing she knew when she helped you that her survival was unlikely. But she trusted it would work out, and that you would care well for her pack. You and your pack are welcome to stay here until you find another place to live or until your forest recovers enough for you to return home. As much as I would like to be able to say you and your wolves can relax and we'll care for all of you, I cannot. Any of your wolves who are able to should hunt as well as mine. As much as I believe in my pack, I don't think they can support themselves and your pack, and I wouldn't ask them to," Seth explained, hoping Azure wouldn't take it as hostility.

"Malaban, I'd like you to take some of the strongest hunters from both packs out and hunt. We'll feast tonight in celebration of Zanix's life, and in her memory. I would also like to venture into the mountains and inform Jaro of what has happened. He can be a bit... Isolated at times, in his choice of territory." Turning to Azure, the Alpha added, "If you wish to come, I will be glad to have you at my side. If you would rather stay here with your pack, I completely understand, and I will send your regards with me to Jaro."

Seth's words were what Azure needed to hear. Although burdened with the loss of his adoptive mother, his spirits were lifted slightly. It would be hard the next few days but Azure was sure he could make it through it and do his best to help his pack.

''I will pass on going with you to see Jaro, I need to make sure my leg is well tended to before even attempting to journey up the mountain. But I thank you for the offer to accompany you. I also understand the terms of letting us stay. This drought has hit all the packs hard and I will have mine do what it can to ensure we are not a burden to yours. Once your healers have tended to my wounded and I have organized my pack after this chaos I will send my hunters out to gather food.'' said Azure turning to take his leave to organize his pack before going to get his leg tended to.

Malaban watched with hidden disgust as Azure turned and walked away. Malice poisoned his mind as it had his grandfather's. But for the time being he was glad to get out of the camp with the hunters. Malaban enjoyed the hunt, a little too well for some. Malaban enjoyed praying upon the helpless creatures as the fell before his strength. He enjoyed watching the hunters, the strongest wolves take down their prey. But he hated being trapped in the camp with the other wolves of the pack. Their weakness was stifling to Malaban and it drove him almost mad. But eager to get out of the camp, Malaban turned to his father keeping his emotions hidden from his face but not his words.

''As you wish father. But I do not intend to let any of Azure's hunters slow me and the others down. Should they fall behind that is their fault. We shall set out once Azure has sent his hunters to us.'' said Malaban before turning to walk back into the camp with a slight snort under his breath to indicate his disgust.
