Another arrow whistled down, this one striking the commander of the Godless and knocking him from his horse. Despite the death of their commander, the Godless continued to calmly advance, with the first row setting their eyes on Heimr and lowering their pikes. Seeing the enemy arranged neatly before him, Heimr literally jumped into the Godless' ranks, felling another seven of them with his axe. Orcris rushed to the Freminik's side, slashing and stabbing his way through the Godless while taking care to stay out of Heimr's range. From the corner of his eye, Orcris could see that the Godless were taking full advantage of Heimr's unarmored torso, making it the sole target of their pikes. He also noted with relief that Heimr's wounds closed almost as soon as they opened; Cruuz was performing well today.

Parrying a thrust from one of the Godless, Orcris grabbed a small sapphire from a pouch he carried on his waist and tossed it into the air. The sapphire began to glow and emit a low whistle. On the unfinished walls of the citadel, Orcris could see a number of white-cloaked mages watch the sapphire with suspicion, but on the ground the soldiers simply ignored it. In spite of himself, the half-elf smiled, these troops were exceptionally trained.

A moment after he had tossed the sapphire, Orcris noted Viul falling back, parrying with his lance and killing another couple of Godless before dropping out of sight. Orcris nodded to himself absentmindedly. Viul had gotten the message; drop back and guard Cruuz before the enemy realizes he's our healer. Returning his undivided focus to the enemy, Orcris noticed that Aura was making short work of them, dancing in between their pikes while plunging either of her swords into whoever happened to be open. Realizing that he was falling behind on the kill count, Orcris pushed himself harder, bringing another two Godless down and trying to close in on Aura. "He appears in the Form of a Man with many Countenances; and he hath a Book in his right hand. His Office is to teach all Arts and Sciences unto any; and to declare the Secret Counsel of any one."

He was so focused on this task that he hardly noticed the second whistle. Thankfully, Aura was paying more attention. Weaving through the Godless' ranks, she rushed to Orcris' side, just in time to parry an axe that would have otherwise cleaved the half-elf's head in two.

Orcris turned in surprise and found himself facing a knight in horned, black and red armor. With incredible strength, the knight knocked Aura aside and turned back to Orcris. Unfortunately for him, he had lost the element of surprise and Orcris managed to dodge his next swing. Even so, the force of the blow seemed to shake the ground itself and knock Orcris off his feet. Moving skillfully, Orcris flipped back onto his feet and turned to face the knight.

Fully focused on Orcris as he was, the knight didn't notice Ustot riding toward him at full gallop. Even as the black knight raised his axe, Ustot slammed into him, her lance connecting perfectly with the black-knight's horned helmet. To the Zarosians' surprise, Ustot's tempered lance shattered against the helmet, raining bits of metal onto the battlefield. The knight's helmet fell off from the force of the blow, and he stumbled a bit. Even so, he was apparently uninjured and quickly regained his composure, facing Orcris.

The half-elf froze in place. He recognized the knight's face without a doubt. Reacting quickly, Orcris shouted one word, “Nocis!”

The mage apparently understood the situation, for a thick black mist was already rolling over the battlefield. The mist reached the Zarosians, then both it and the Zarosians vanished.


The Godless made a quick but thorough search of the battlefield, ensuring the Zarosians had truly escaped and were not simply hiding until a time to strike presented itself. Satisfied with their search, one of the Godless returned the black knight's helmet and inquired if he was alright.

“Of course,” replied the black knight, “They didn't manage to wound me. Inform Lord Amatsu as to what happened here.” "He appears in the Form of a Man with many Countenances; and he hath a Book in his right hand. “Yes sir,” replied the Godless.

“Yes?”

“Make sure to tell him that Orcris saw my face, that detail is very important,” finished the knight.

Interesting. I wonder how long this alliance has existed. It makes me wonder what events have been influenced by this (at least according to you, I figure you've been planning this for a while). Seems the Gods will be much more directly involved than before. I mean come on one was just faced in actual combat. Glad Orcris got some "screen" time. I can't wait for more.

Is he good or evil? Self-interest seems to be what's being served here. Especially in his case, if all the Gods are gone, he might just be the most powerful being in the world. Who would get to command people then? It might be his decrees and "wisdoms" that people are following and trying to abide by. Or as Zamorak is directly involved it might be chaos and anarchy, for many believe if there is Godlessness there is no order. Who knows exactly(Aqua...)

To answer your question from several months(and seven pages) ago, yes it was a good thing. If I hadn't liked your story, I would have said so, But as is, I merely post to mark my spot in the story in case I forget. I do love the way this story goes, and it does give me inspiration on other fronts. "There is no Good or Evil, no Light or Dark, Order or Chaos. Just knowledge and your own ability to know when to stop. And if you knew when to stop, you'd never achieve the impossible."

It seems you are testing how stubborn I can be. I'm still here, still waiting for more. I know others are as well. Hope to see those soon, figure you might be dealing with finals/end of semester projects right now like I am so I can wait... for a little while longer.

for sec...ive allowed every player and nonplayer to help...it could be a pirate,musketeer,brittish soldier...iz all based between 1730-1860...ive gota blog at zamwar,idc bout ur info it can be fake,it dznt matter if u put it on here or zamwar it dznt make a diforence.ile make sure to share some ideas to u 2 scinner it seems uve gota awsum storie i hope uve got more...if not ile see wat i can provide...or all of our ideas lol ur more popularr than i am lol. ^_^
