“Oh, no!" Letters replied hastily, brushing his greasy hair back. He straightened up and tried to pull down his short-shorts low. “Uh, I was just wondering why he threw a chair through the window.”
“He did*’t. I did.”
Letters raised an eyebrow. “How- How did you manage to throw a chair if you have no hands?” he asked, perplexed. He looked again at the broken gun. “How did you do THAT?” he exclaimed.
As Snake hissed and retreated back into a coil, Joppi screamed. “OH SHI-” he shrieked as he jumped back, crashing against the white walls of the courthouse. He slid vertically down, his forearms pressing against his face as bits of hot metal flew into his body. Snake was thrown towards an elevator as scales ripped away from his being. “LETTERS!” Joppi coughed out, the smoke rapidly rising to the top of the building but still creeping through the ground floor. “Letters! You alright?”
“He’s dead,” a small boy announced as he hopped off a burning meteor, brushing the smoke off his shoulders. His albino hair riffled in the hot air, and his sharp nose looked disapproving down at the wounded teenager. “What’s up with you, Joppi?” he barked out.
“Well, I dunno... Maybe... Riding a meteor isn’t always enjoyable to other people, Scouteh, and might get some people killed,” Joppi said meekly as he rolled onto his back. He closed his eyes, breathing the low-level pure air before realizing the cold fact and jumping up. “He’s dead?!” Joppi shouted.
“Well, yeah. Kind of smooshed underneath my meteor,” Scouteh said, bored, waving a delicate hand towards the smoking rubble. “Y’know, not a lot of humans can live under a burning rock, Joppi,” he snickered.
“Why’d you land on him?!” Joppi shrieked.
“What- You’re joking.”
“No! Why? He was my assignment, curse it!”
