Joppi took a step away from Letters before replying: "Two rules. Never touch me or wink at me EVER again."
"Aw."
"And to answer your question," Joppi said, smirking, "maybe. However, let's get a move on, alright?"
The pair were now out, walking past the houses. The houses were towering, enclosed in their gardens, and resembled beasts restrained by the groves. The iron bars that made up the gates were rickety, leaning forwards. “Wow, not a lot of these homes in the real world,” Letters said, wiping his nose and leaving the snot on a bar. “Boy, it sure is cold,” he said.
“Why’d you wear short-shorts on your first day?” Joppi asked angrily. He turned to face Letters.
“You don’t like them?”
“As much as I like having bamboo shoved up my nose!” Joppi snorted, shaking his head. “Honestly, the nerve! The audacity! The… nerve!” he repeated again, raking his mind for insults.
“Well, where are we going?” Letters asked timidly.
“Towards the News and Announcements.”
As Joppi and Letters walked towards the end of the block, the neighborhood switched to a white room. “What just happened?” Letters asked.
The two were inside a courtroom. The judge took off his glasses and squinted at the two. Letters turned red in the face.
“This is our first stop; the News and Announcements,” Joppi muttered as he motioned for the judge to come. “Taunter, you got some clothes for my newbie?”
“Joppi,” the old man said, adjusting his glasses. His bald head gleamed with brightness off the lights as he straightened out his back. “I was diligently reviewing a preliminarily hearing from the-”
“Cut the manure,” Joppi grinned.
Taunter the Judge smirked as he folded his arms. “Dude over there sobbing that I made fun of him. Punk. Heh,” he said, his eyes going up and down on Letters. “Who’s this joke? Guy I need to rough up?” he growled, holding his mallet.
“Nah. We need some robes for him to wear so he doesn’t get killed. Anything?” Joppi asked.
