Joppi took a step away from Letters before replying: "Two rules. Never touch me or wink at me EVER again."

"Aw."

"And to answer your question," Joppi said, smirking, "maybe. However, let's get a move on, alright?"

The pair were now out, walking past the houses. The houses were towering, enclosed in their gardens, and resembled beasts restrained by the groves. The iron bars that made up the gates were rickety, leaning forwards. “Wow, not a lot of these homes in the real world,” Letters said, wiping his nose and leaving the snot on a bar. “Boy, it sure is cold,” he said.

“Why’d you wear short-shorts on your first day?” Joppi asked angrily. He turned to face Letters.

“You don’t like them?”

“As much as I like having bamboo shoved up my nose!” Joppi snorted, shaking his head. “Honestly, the nerve! The audacity! The… nerve!” he repeated again, raking his mind for insults.

“Well, where are we going?” Letters asked timidly.

“Towards the News and Announcements.”

As Joppi and Letters walked towards the end of the block, the neighborhood switched to a white room. “What just happened?” Letters asked.

The two were inside a courtroom. The judge took off his glasses and squinted at the two. Letters turned red in the face.

“This is our first stop; the News and Announcements,” Joppi muttered as he motioned for the judge to come. “Taunter, you got some clothes for my newbie?”

“Joppi,” the old man said, adjusting his glasses. His bald head gleamed with brightness off the lights as he straightened out his back. “I was diligently reviewing a preliminarily hearing from the-”

“Cut the manure,” Joppi grinned.

Taunter the Judge smirked as he folded his arms. “Dude over there sobbing that I made fun of him. Punk. Heh,” he said, his eyes going up and down on Letters. “Who’s this joke? Guy I need to rough up?” he growled, holding his mallet.

“Nah. We need some robes for him to wear so he doesn’t get killed. Anything?” Joppi asked.

---Chapter Three---

“Where are we off to, now?" Letters huffed, trying to keep pace with his rushing partner. As they both flew through the many levels of the winding courthouse, Joppi'* eyes squinted together as he slowed down. Letters almost bumped into him as Joppi tiptoed around the spiral staircases, putting a finger to his mouth to hush.

“What?” Letters whispered, placing his hand on Joppi'* shoulder. The tension in the narrow staircase amounted to anxiety, and the deathly silence did nothing to soothe the nervousness of Letters; it made it worse. “What’s happening?” he mumbled fervently as Joppi leaned against the wall, waiting.

BAM! CRASH!

“NEW ZEALAND DOES NOT SU(CEN)CK!” a person screamed downstairs as glass shattered. Jo*pi exhaled as he slid down the wall until his knees were level with his chest. He rubbed his temples and smiled as gunshots echoed downstairs. A stupefied Letters stood above him, looking blankly and mouth agape.

“W-What happened?” he said, aghast. His arms shivered like jell-o as he slumped on the staircases.

“Flaming Forum is on the ground floor,” Joppi replied with a grin. He helped himself up and hurried down the descending stairs with Letters near his heels, eager to not get caught in the ensuing war. “Looks like Snake’s got another challenger to his country,” Joppi laughed with a great breath of air.

“Who’s Snake?”

“OH! Just because I come in a small country, it means I don’t have any significant importance to YOU?!” a serpent hissed, rearing up on its tail as its tongue flipped out. Two vicious fangs leaked blood onto the marble floor, and the pair of black, oval eyes narrowed at Letters. A broken window was to the right of the reptile, and near the animal was a dead body. Letters backed away and glanced out the broken window, spotting a thrown chair out among the tall grass. Camouflage clothing was ripped and shredded from the dead man, and bullet casings littered the floor with a Mac-10 cracked in two pieces.
