This is a really great little thread, Worf!
I so enjoyed reading your various poems, though I think my favorites had to be "Thunderstorm", "Eagle's Eye View" and "The Arrow". I love how you have such variation here -- sometimes sad, sometimes joyous, sometimes macabre and sometimes just plain wacky, but each piece has a strong theme, cleverly thought out as if you are saying, "Yes, but have you thought about it this way?"
It's a treat seeing positive encouragement towards other writers to join in with their own material too. Aeraie, you're most certainly a complementary poet in your own right, adding even more to this delightful thread.
And now I had better make myself useful and add one of my own.
--The gem--
My attention is drawn, though I know not why.
Over there. It feels right.
Scraping. Gently now. Impatience battles care.
Chip, chip, chip.
A crack, a fissure, a rend, a tear! Fragments crumble to my feet.
What lies here under the dust?
Dull yet magnificent in the dark; full of promise.
My long search is over. Things will change! I turn to go.
Unless--my attention is drawn.
Maybe one more. Over there.
The faulted rock above my head looks on, unimpressed.
