Shorts -
Short Stories can be very effective if well written, and on the other hand very ineffective. I personally greatly enjoy writing shorts, as they do not require as much time as a full story would. Now even though they do not require as much time, that doesn't mean that they don't require any time. If you want a easily developed short, yet still have proper grammar and mechanics, it will take some time.
One of the reasons why I find shorts fun to write is the fact that any little thing that pops into my head, I can write about. If something comes to your mind that would make a pretty cool story, yet it wouldn't be long enough for a full story, then make it a short.
Several shorts I have written have been the result of not knowing what to write about.
A good way to get started is just to think of a subject. Usually when I'm going to write anything, I sit down with a notebook and pencil. That way I can write down any ideas I have. Once you have something you think would make a good short story you now will go into probably the most fun part.
One thing to remember when you write a short story is that imagery is extremely important. I know that even though you will be trying to make you stories short you still will need to be able to convey what is going on and describe things well.

Okay, it’s not the best at the moment, but I'm going to refine it and make it more organized. Add in some stuff; take some away, that sort of thing. This of course is just the overview, so there’s a lot more I can put in.
