I, Patriotic Br, fully support the finished version of this thread to be stickied under Capt's, and Poller's control. We've needed something like this for a long time, because, the Story Forums HAVE in fact been seeing a decline from the Golden Era.
There are far more **** Stories than I'd prefer. No offense to you Noob Story authors, but it doesn't show a bunch of talent when everything is as follows:
Bob: Ha-ha, you're a turtle!
Yurtle: Ha-ha, you have the most common name ever!
That doesn't apply to all of you, by the way. I am only talking to those who write random nonsense.
With this thread, we can help people start to move into Prose. Some of us found are way into Prose ourselves, but some may not quite feel brave enough. This thread would help all of those who are insecure about their abilities as authors, so that we may once again see reading and discussion going on. Deny it if you will, but I'm seeing a lack of enthusiasm when it comes to reading others' stories—I, myself, am no exception.
Those few discussions that I do see have come about in the form of trades: You read mine, and I'll read yours. With this thread being stickied and owned by us Forumers, we'll be able to bring a new attitude into this place.
I believe that we are all scrambling around in the dark, but this thread shall be the spotlight that will expand our horizons, showing us things we've never seen before. A new state of mind might also come into being, one that would prosper in the new Forums.
