Chekaka, this is an excellent thread for starter authors (like me :D ) and experienced writers to improve upon their basics and fundamentals, as well as their writing. With many different people pitching in their own little ideas and guides, this has the makings of one of the most successful guides on the Stories Forum. I support this thread completely. :D
I am in the midst of writing the beginnings of a story, an Adventure thread with some mixing* of Horror and Romance already pitched into the plot. The horror part of it will only be in certain areas of the tale, however, the romantic part will course to the end of the story, and result with an epic (hopefully ^_^ ) action/romantic ******. Wish me luck.

Having read through some of the informative articles here, I see that you've occasionally cited examples of authors or works that you feel are good examples of whatever it is you're describing. I think that's a great idea.
Without trying to sound like I'm either bragging or fishing for free advertising, if you would like to mention my "Assorted Tales" thread as an example of prose comedy, I'd be very happy for you to do so. But let me know if you *don't* want to do that too, and I'll edit this out. I don't want you to have to deal with a flood of "mention me!" posts!
Also, don't hesitate to let me know if I can contribute to this in a more meaningful way too. I'd be happy to write something if it'll help the cause. But if not, that's just fine as well!
Best of luck and continued success!

I think that the "Assorted Tales" would be a good example of prose comedy in the works, so I think I will cite that. Thanks for the offer and suggestion. ^_^
As for helping out, I'll talk to Poller and see what we can get. ^_^
