This looks like a pretty good guide. Also I COMPLETELY agree with how you mentioned that writers find that Bloo+Gore=Scary. I find it completely annoying. THe only thing I disagree on in this thread is that Eragin's plot is like the plot from Star Wars. There actually is a HUGE difference between the two. The only similarity is that there is an evil person that the hero must defeat. Other then that they are different. I am currently working on my first story and this guide could really help me with it. So I would say that this is really good.

I am inclined to most staunchly disagree with you on that Eragon thing, Lightfairy.
I'd tell you how similar the plots are, but I haven't the time to list out all of the similarities.
