Asia would find that she did in fact have cell phone reception, but could not access the internet since there were no Wi-Fi networks nearby. Whether or not she found those facts surprising wouldn't matter, as what she found next would undoubtedly be a shock.
Almost her entire contact list - every name and number recorded on her phone - had been erased. Only two mysterious numbers remained, and she would recognize neither, as they belonged to Kyle Riley and Gavin Trail. Neither of whom were too far away from her location, although she did not know that.
Suddenly, Asia's phone would start ringing. The number on screen would reveal the caller as one of her mysterious new contacts - Kyle.

Fortunately for Gavin, there was service, and he could access his music, but like Asia he could not get on the internet. Also like Asia, he would find that all of his contacts had been deleted except for two mysterious numbers - Kyle Riley and Asia Keating. Which left the question of whether he should call them, keep moving, or listen to music - one of his original plans.

Vlad's shouting would be met only with echoes... until his "I destroy you!" comment. A faint high pitched screeching sound could be heard.
As he walked through the cave he would notice that all the torches were not only evenly spaced, but they were also all on the right hand side. The cave itself also twisted and turned, shifting up, down, to the left, or to the right, all at various angles. But the floor was always flat and smooth. Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.
