None of the Diversions/Distraction things are worth it. Penguin Points give a total of 25 xp times the lvl you are in it if you have all of them so it's about 3-4k xp per penguin point for me.
Shooting Stars net about 100k every 200 stardust but you can only do it once a day and they take about half an hour at minimum to wait for, track down, and mine. The "Hefty mining bonus" for finding them first is just 75 xp times the lvl you are in it so I just got 6075 xp at lvl 81 mining.
The Circus is just another junk collection. It isn't bad because its purpose was just to give some new clothes which it did but that isn't really anything significant. Also the once per week part and getting multiples of the same clothes is annoying..

I can get 72k mining xp in about an hour and 20 mins which comes out to 8 minutes per penguin.. that's definitely cutting it close even with a lot of other people looking too.
I got 83 mining last night and I'm almost 84 now. Hopefully getting 85 before I go to bed tonight.
