Hi,
I'd just like to follow up on the catastrophic events that unfolded recently. My goal in writing this is to open everyone's eyes, especially the generals in the chat, to the certain power abuse going on. I won't name any names, but some people in power that have names similar to certain Runescape skills should have patience and not be "kick-happy." They need to be told how to properly handle predicaments, instead of having their finger on the trigger 24/7. To name a specific situation, there was some cursing going on, which i will give, is against the rules, and should not be tolerated. But this person was given no fair warnings, and was kicked for typing stars (***), which last I checked, is not against the rules.
Obviously, language won't be tolerated, but all i ask is some fair warning before kicks, and please teach some of the new generals how to be patient with people and not insta-kick.

Hey there Iamamama and everyone :)
I'm afraid that we cannot really go into heavy detail on the forums regarding the situation because doing so would discuss the actions of another player in which there is no proof on the forums.
I would like to mention that censor evasion is against the rules and is a reportable offense. This is something that everyone knows, and if they get booted without warning, one shouldn't be surprised, especially if they do something more severe than evasion.
If a general gives a warning that is them trying to be nice and give them a chance before they get booted. When a warning is given, it is not a time for the player warned, or others, to disrespect the general. The best thing to do after a warning is given is to say sorry, and then move forward. To put things in perspective, look at how Jagex handles rule-breaking, you either get muted or banned temporarily without warning because the rules are evident.
When a player is booted from chat, I will be told about it and will talk with the player in question. If a player gets booted 3 times, they will receive a 1 day ban from chat. if a player gets booted again, they will receive a week ban from chat, and should issues continue they will receive a perm chat ban.
Rules, especially censor evasion, are not new rules, and players should realize that we do not allow rs rules to be broken in chat either. Those who are currently in chat are not new to our chat, nor are they new to Runescape so they already know the rules. Generals may give a warning if they feel that the situation calls for it, but don't be surprised if a person gets booted instead.
The other issue is that when a person gets booted, it is then up to myself to talk with them and deal with the situation in question, not up to those in chat to disrupt everyone else by questioning the general in defence of a friend.

If a general is confronted and asked why a person was booted, they are informed to say "I'm afraid that is now between Accie and whoever was booted". If a person disagrees and feels that a boot was not necessary, you are welcome to talk to me. I will take what you say into consideration.
A player will only be booted from chat for the following reasons
1) If a rule is broken - now in this case, they may receive a warning depending how severe the rule-break is. If its severe and reportable, chances are no warnings will be given. Should they be booted without warning, or even booted after receiving a warning, I will be speaking with both the general who booted and the person who broke the rules, along with others who I feel may be necessary to help clear up the picture of what happened.
2) Harassment of a general - Should a person continue to harass/disrespect a general after they receive a warning for rule-breaking, or causing chat problems, they will be booted. If its the case of harassing, or disrespecting a general, due to a previous boot, or the boot of another player, the General will respond with the above and ask to change the subject. If it continues, they will boot.
We ask that players do not send their friends in to question the boot, rather be aware that booting only occurs when rules are broken, unless its accidental, such as, when a general tries to add a player and accidentally hits boot instead. In this case, I and the player in question will be told.
3) If a player has received numerous warnings close together, and has often been warned for the same thing, the player may then start to get booted by the general who gave the warnings, or another who witnessed it without further warnings, and are at risk of a chat ban.
Now, please understand that each general will use their own discretion for and just because you witness one general giving a warning for something, or booting for something, may not necessarily mean that another "HAS" to.

Some players like to cry out "power abusing" when a general gives out a warning or boots someone.
What is power-abusing?
Power-abusing is when a general in the chat goes on a booting rampage for absolutely no apparent reason. Now by no reason, I don't mean by what you consider to be "no reason" because many of you don't think certain types of rule-breaking are a big deal. I've had people cry "power abusing" to me, when rules have been broken.
If rules are broken, minor or severe, being issued a warning, or getting booted, *SHOULD* be expected. If a general boots for rule-breaking, and/or even disrespect, it is not considered power abusing.
We all understand that you may disagree with an action taken by a general, but harassing them, or getting a bunch of people to argue about it, is not the way to handle things, especially if you DID break the rules. Please remember that if someone gets booted, I will be speaking both with the general, the booted player, and other witnesses to get a full picture, so there is no reason to harass the general over it.
Four things we ask of players who visit our chat
1) Be Respectful
2) Be Kind
3) Be Helpful/supportive
4) Follow rules
Each player is different and has their own personality, but we must always consider the feelings of others, even if you feel differently about something.
Thank you for reading :)

Hey everyone!
I'm not quite sure how many of you remember me, but I've been pretty inactive from Achievers United and RuneScape in general for about a year or so now, but I think it's high time to return. For those who don't know me I've been a member of Achievers ever since it started a few years back (at the time it was called the G&A Team), and plan on being an active member once again. My old goals thread recently maxed out while I was gone, which gives me the perfect oppurtunity to make a new one, so be on the lookout!
Cheers, hope to see everyone in the chat!
