Dear Diary,

This afternoon, I completed Daily Challenges in Dungeoneering, Woodcutting, and Prayer.

As usual, I used a challenge token to skip the Dungeoneering task. Next, I chopped 15 yew logs west of Lumbridge Market. Then I burned one of these logs and used the fire to cremate 10 sets of big bones.

I redeemed these challenges to reach 85 Woodcutting.

Dear Diary,

Tonight, I completed Daily Challenges in Smithing, Fishing, and Crafting.

I smithed 150 rune arrowheads at the Lumbridge anvil. Next, I summoned 14 crayfish from the river behind the Lumbridge church. Then I crafted 5 leather shields in Burthorpe.

I redeemed these challenges to reach 89 Smithing.

Dear Diary,

Tonight, I spent a little time in Burthorpe shearing sheep in order to sell the wool to necromancers on the Grand Exchange. After I had gathered a dozen pieces of wool, a flash of light in the night sky caught my eye. I looked up in time to see what appeared similar to a shooting star off in the distance to the southwest. It seemed to come down over the water towards Ashdale.

I wondered if this could be a sign that I might finally find some answers regarding the mysterious ghost lady I encountered there before. Maybe it was a coincidence. Maybe it was an omen. I had to know for certain.

I ran to the bank in Taverley, where I stashed the wool and retrieved one of my ghostspeak amulets - just in case it may come in handy. Then I teleported to Ashdale.

Upon my arrival, I headed to the north end of the island. As usual, cheerful Digory and grumpy Ned were there, sitting by a campfire. I asked the two men if they had noticed a shooting star land near the island, or if they had seen anything else unusual tonight. In an apologetic tone, Digory said he had seen nothing out of the ordinary. Ned simply made odd vomiting noises as he shook his head.

I walked over to the edge of the rocky cliff and stared out at the darkness. "Hello?", I called out. "I am here, if you would like to talk." Ned yelled out to me, "Who are you expectin', girl?" I turned to look at him, then replied, "I do not know." Ned began to cackle with laughter, as Digory gave me a look of sympathy. I began to feel angry, not just towards the old man, but out of frustration over my situation. I wanted answers. I needed answers. I was close. I could feel it!

Suddenly, Ned stopped laughing. Both men looked afraid. They nearly tripped over themselves as they ran in fear towards the west. I quickly turned back around to see what had frightened the men. At the edge of the cliff, a familiar cloud of mist hovered in the air briefly before transforming into the ghostly form of a middle-aged woman. I've been putting out fire with gasoline!

Just over a year had passed since the last time I met this ghostly woman at this same spot on Ashdale. Now, she had finally returned - and I had come prepared.

I showed my ghostspeak amulet to the spirit and said, "I would very much like to talk with you." In an ethereal whisper, the ghost replied, "The amulet will not be necessary for us to communicate, Kat." She smiled warmly at me. I could not shake the feeling this woman, whoever she was in life, was known to me.

I studied the ghost's face, but could not place her. Then I told her, "I am sorry. It feels as though I should know you, yet your appearance is unfamiar to me." The ghost replied, "None of this is surprising to me. Indeed, I am known to you. However, when you knew me in life, I looked very different." The ghostly lady transformed again. This time, she took on a smaller, much younger appearance - a girl with short hair. "You do remember me now, yes?"

By the gods, she was Cosette! My little sister, who I had not seen since...since something terrible had happened! My memory of those times is mostly gone, but I remember her.

"Cosette! Can it truly be you, after all this time?!" I went to hug her, but her little body was not tangible. It was like hugging the air. Cosette replied, "It truly is me, dear sister." I kneeled down to look directly into Cosette's ghostly face and said to her, "I am so sorry, dear Cosette. As your big sister, I should have protected you. Clearly, I failed to keep you safe." Cosette smiled as she said, "You did save me, dear sister! You simply cannot recall how you saved me. Perhaps I can help to restore your memory, dear Kat."

Cosette leaned in and gently kissed me on my forehead. As her ghostly lips touched my skin, I felt a slight shock of electricity. Then, it was as though a light was switched on, illuminating some of the dark regions of my mind. Memories came flooding back to me!

I remember now, Diary - by the gods I remember!
