Yes, basicly you want the highest Ranged bonus, the Prayer bonus just makes your pots last longer (and the cost of those are nothing compared to the Cannonballs, the Herbs you get from a trip make up for the Prayer pot costs easy) :p
I started killing them at 78 Ranged, at which point it was fairly doable, I can defenitly see that the hits have inproved as I get a lot more charms then when I first started. But as long as you're more then 10 Hitpoints, and have some decent melee stats , it might be better to go to Waterfiends. Gathering Charms there is way cheaper

Just did a trip to Barrows for the Lolz, Karil was my Tunnel-brother twice (had hoped it to be a melee brother, that would've been easier with praying) I got ambushed by Karil in the tunnel the first time, and had forgotten to eat my Rocktail, so he 1hit me before my prayer switch was active. Wasn't hard to get back in time, and killed him anyway. The second run went very smooth. :p
The loot was nothing special: 248 Coins, 72 Bolts racks, 510 Chaos, 70 death, 40 Blood runes (I did 2 chests, killed all the brothers)

Yeh, you can just Cannon them. Recoiling Dharok would be a little overkill :p
Edit: finished all the beginner, easy, medium and hard Lumbridge tasks (free 11500 Summoning XP worth of lamps )

Defence? - I thought about it, and decided that after I get 99 Ranged/Summoning/Prayer I'll go back to soulwars untill I get 70 Str / 75 Defence, That will get me up to Combat level 100. Then I'll most likely go for 99 Def / Str, but keep the Zeals till I have enough to get at least one of the 2 Stats to level 99 at once.

I'm aware that the Summoning Bonus is only 1.1x, that's why i'll be doing Crafting in the first 3 hours, and most likely Mining till my counter reaches 1.5-1.3x. At which point I'll use my Charms (remember that the amount of charms I have will add up with around 200 Crimsons a day, so I'll have around 8K Crimsons at the start of the Bxpw).
