So, Morytania task set. I still need to do 3 more elite tasks: prayer renewal, for which I have the levels, just waiting for Fellstalk and mushrooms to grow; and the two Temple Trekking tasks. I haven't done any trekking since it was updated, but this requirements has made me put it on my short term todo list! I'm also gonna need 5 more Summoning levels, but I intend to get those quite soon.

Ah, I immediately rushed to the OP when you said that, and I was right! It's already on the list. Can't blame you for not finding it, it's a big list to read lol. Thanks for the suggestion, though!
Update: so I did a lot of Temple Trekking, the Morytania tasks motivated me. Got the Construction outfit now, but still quite a long way to go for the 594 total levels.

I think the +10 Summoning boost can only be used for effigies and not to summon any creature. And even if it did, for the diaries, you have to summon the familiar in the diary's area (Morytania for Ghast) and not the citadel.
You're free to get combat, it's your decision.
