Iorwerth had found a way to free the fragment of Seren: he'd obtained an orb of light which would release it, and found the entrance to the temple the dwarves had dug up, which bypassed the temple's other defenses.

To stop Iorwerth, Sharp-shin infiltrated his camp to steal the orb for the rebels.

However, Arianwyn, shocked from the information found at the library, had switched sides and revealed Lletya's location to Iorwerth, who decided to attack the village to recover the orb.

Lletya's elves stood no chance against Iorwerth's forces, and he managed to get the orb back. On the bright side however, despite completely trashing the village, Sharp-shin's papaya tree managed to survive the siege intact.

Iorwerth resumed his quest, so time was of the essence: Sharp-shin found the last missing elders, Lady Ithell and Lady Meilyr, and together, the rebellious elves made haste to the underground pass, to seal the dwarven entrance to the temple before Iorwerth could enter. Another battle ensued, during which Sharp-shin had to kill Iorwerth's officer, Essyllt, who wanted to kill Elena.

But the battle was a failure once again, and Iorwerth breached the temple's defenses, freeing the evil spirit trapped within.

Before Seren's dark version woke up, Arianwyn backstabbed Iorwerth, but it was too late: Sharp-shin had to defeat the evil fragment. Afterwards, Iorwerth (who has a very long dying animation it seems) cursed for what had happened, before he finally died and peace was restored for the elves.

With the civil war over, Baxtorian restored Prifddinas to its former glory, and Sharp-shin and Elena were granted access! > )

~~ Thoughts on SOTE ~~

So since this was my first time completing SOTE and it's a grandmaster quest, I wanted to talk a bit more about it like I always do for grandmaster quests. :P

Firstly, the length: I can't emphasize enough how long the quest was. I didn't even bother trying to complete the quest on my own given that the light puzzles alone would've taken ages, but here's the thing: despite following the guide, it took me 6 hours to complete the quest. That time doesn't include any breaks; with those, the time increases to 8 hours. For a quest that you followed a guide for, that's insane.

Secondly, it felt to me like the start portion in Ardougne could've been its own quest, and it would've made the time to complete SOTE more reasonable.

Thirdly, I'm not sure how I liked the quest compared to other grandmasters: on the other hand, the storytelling was pretty clear but still interesting, and the battles were pretty well designed (fighting the fragment was pretty tough even considering I had maxed combat stats and the best gear possible for it; for an average Joe it'll probably be like a pre-EoC Nomad fight), but there were some bits that felt slightly off.

As an example, Lady Ithell was dead, so instead of looking for her corpse, the search was for her knowledge, which the new Lady Ithell would inherit. When it's found, the new Lady Ithell reflects on it in a way that comes across as a joke that breaks the fourth wall, when the tone of the quest is pretty serious and immersive overall. And the quest length feels a bit weird too, although that could've been remedied by separating the quest into two like said.

Anyway, it was an awesome quest, and I finally have access to the gauntlet and Hunllef. I'm not sure when I have the time to start doing it though, because it'll probably take a lot to learn, and I'd rather have the spare time to do it at once. :P

~~ Day 19: Abyss(m)al RNG ~~

Nothing new to see here, just another starvation in progress for Sharp-shin. :P Twice the droprate dry for an unsired now, and then Sire drops an air talisman, which is thrice as rare as an unsired. These drystreaks kind of go against the idea of this thread: the sharp-shin in the opening image is an adult, which symbolized Sharp-shin's success prior to the break, yet after the break, Sharp-shin is more like a juvenile, which often starve to death in their first year.

Cool story! I appreciate that you took the time to write this because I'm never going to play it myself so otherwise I would have no idea what happens.

Baxtorian being brought back to life and King Lathas being killed were the most remarkable things for me. From what you said it sounds like it probably would have been a good idea to make it 2 separate quests. In any case, congratulations for Prif access! Also, good luck with the new prey - hopefully you like it as much as in RS3 :)

Cheerio! > )

It's been so long since I did Plague's End in RS3 that I've pretty much forgotten how it went, but I wonder how the story differs between the two. Seren (and other gods) are obviously present in RS3, whereas in OSRS Seren is dead and other gods aren't present, but beyond that...

This brings back some memories. I wonder how the new obstacle would be with minimum agility requirement :P

Maybe I got very unlucky, maybe it's very punishing at lower levels, or maybe it's a fixed fail chance. :P

~~ Day 21: Jarring Conclusion ~~

At last! After going 2,25 times dry for one, Sharp-shin finally got an unsired, and it was...

A fucking jar! :P

Jars are supposed to be once every 10 unsireds, yet Sharp-shin hasn't even gotten 10 unsireds, and already two of them have been jars. They're literally the worst you can get from an unsired: they're tradeable, so their value is based on their gp value, yet they don't sell for anything. With 40k gp Sharp-shin might as well collect them for the sake of it. In comparison, on average an unsired is worth over 6m gp.

Since this was the new highest drystreak record for Sharp-shin at Abyssal Sire, here are the drystreak graphs again, this time for Sire:

Previously the average was one unsired every 83 kills; now it's every 103 kills. From somewhat lucky to slightly unlucky, excluding the fact that there have been two jars. :P

I hope this is just an "unlucky RNG month" thing, and that it'll soon be over, because at Zulrah another rune spear dropped as well, which could've once again been something much more valuable instead:

~~ Day 22: Surprise Mimic ~~

Even before the break, Sharp-shin had lost the music cape due to a new track being locked behind the mimic boss fight, which is an uncommon chance to occur after completing an elite or a master clue. The day finally came though when the mimic challenged Sharp-shin to a fight, but as per the theme of the "unlucky RNG month", the loot wasn't worth the wait. :P

(If you complete the mimic fight in first try, which is easy, you have a better than 1/40-44 chance to get a 3rd age ring, and a 1/228-250 chance to get any other 3rd age item (values in master-elite clue). Instead, Sharp-shin got 600 death runes.)

At least air is your favourite element. Could make a nice tiara from that talisman :)

Isn't a talisman like a sort of an amulet? I'd rather make something like that. > )

Let's hope so! 1st of April is here soon 8)

Did they add jars to every new boss as troll drop?

Oh yeah, I'd love to get another jar at that date. :P

Not every new boss, but too many. They can be displayed in POH but you can only store one in there so it's useless after that.

~~ Day 26: Accipiter domesticus ~~

If this really is an "unlucky RNG month" and not, say, an "unlucky RNG year", then it makes sense, because it's reaching its peak: Sharp-shin keeps getting lots of seed drops from Abyssal Sire, which are much rarer than getting an unsired. The above has been the worst so far, being 7 times as rare as an unsired, not long before which there was a papaya tree seed drop, which was 5 times as rare as an unsired.

There may have been a simple misunderstanding however: sparrows in real life eat seeds, so Jagex may have simply confused sparrow and sparrowhawk together. If that's the case, please stop giving Sharp-shin seed drops, he'll only starve with those. Unsireds (particularly those which don't give jars), on the other hand, would be greatly appreciated. Cheerio! > )

EDIT: Also to add to the "unlucky RNG month" theme, Sharp-shin also did a task of 150 Cerberus kills and got nothing. The hell doggo is great for sparring, but very protective of its puppy.

~~ Day 27: Ask and Receive ~~

Well, it looks like there indeed was a misunderstanding, because the seed drops stopped and an unsired dropped instead! > ) Going to exchange it, the unsired turned out to be...

An abyssal dagger! Sold for 6.5m.

Now that Sharp-shin is temporarily not at flying weight, it got me thinking again whether or not Sharp-shin can get the pet drop before a new bludgeon is in progress. Sire is one of those bosses where you can both complete it and yet at the same time not, it's funny that way.
