Since you both were hopping, he could not say "home world, can't hop" anymore :P

Lol, people don't crash nearly as much elsewhere though. :P

Not true old school, though!

You almost never touch the ground with it so you could call it flying low! :)

Would you rather have no item instead of receiving a duplicate? In other words, would you prefer a dry streak?

Speaking in general, I don't mind duplicates if they're at least somehow useful. E.g. getting a duplicate at Zulrah is okay since you get lots of scales from it still. But Barrows is stuck in the annoying middleground, where most duplicates are currently useless (excluding e.g. Verac's flail for if you get smited for it at wilderness bosses), but they could potentially get buffed in the future to be worth something. And since getting specific Barrows uniques takes a very long time, risking not to keep them would be very punishing.

So in short, at Barrows, I'd rather just get uniques and not think about it. :P

Thieving cape (t)

Primary methods used to get 99 thieving:

Questing (early game)
Pyramid plunder (mid game)
Ardougne knights (late game)

Still need to do post-99 thieving both for pharaoh's scepters and money, the former of which should be more likely to yield the pet, that I didn't get by 99... again. Ah well, Heron is better. :P

To mix things up a bit, I'm also going to share some sparrowhawk facts (more or less) related for each achieved 99, unless it's a completely unrelated skill to them. Firemaking is also included this time, since I got it before the creation of this thread, and it fits. :)

~~ Sparrowhawk Fact #1 (Firemaking) ~~

Sparrowhawks sometimes rest by standing on one leg, both to be able to conserve energy by "locking" the other leg in, and to conserve heat by keeping the other leg out of cold.

~~ Sparrowhawk Fact #2 (Thieving) ~~

The pale underparts and dark upperparts help sparrowhawks to form "above/below countershading", which makes them harder to recognize from below when they're soaring, and harder to detect from above when they're hunting prey by flying close to the ground (as well as cover the prey from sight when it's caught).

Ahrim's hood

Interesting, it's not amazing, but okay for Zulrah... more importantly, now I'm just one piece shy from a full set! Morytania diary is arguably one of the easiest to complete (yet still one of the most useful as well), but currently 85 slayer and having a full set of Barrows gear is what's holding me back. For obvious reasons I'd prefer not to be held back by RNG, so... :P

Current Barrows chest count: 293

Strength cape (t)

Primary methods used to get 99 strength:

Questing (early game)
Slayer (mid and late game)
Ammonite crabs (mid and late game)

It's probably the stereotypical combat 99 to get first, but it's not really seeing bigger hit numbers that interested me, but rather the increase in efficiency: a max hit generally increases your dps much more than a bit of extra accuracy, or taking damage slightly less often.

If attack also increased your chance to hit higher and defence made a more noticeable impact on the amount of damage you take, perhaps things would've gone differently. Although since you can't train strength with abyssal whip, it might've been the better path to take anyway. :P

In any case, this'll be great preparation for bossing, since getting gear is hard enough already.

~~ Sparrowhawk Fact #3 (Strength) ~~

Sparrowhawk's talons and their grip strength is what ultimately kills the sparrowhawk's prey most of the time: small birds are easily squeezed, while for bigger prey they cause internal injuries, which can lead to the prey's death, even if it manages to break free or wriggle about.

These things are really starting to eat up space in the bank, but I can't really afford to train construction high enough to store them all yet. It looks like a gilded steel bed too. :P

Bronze dragon mask

10000 years later, I finally get an elite clue I'm able to complete (notably because it was nothing but combat steps the whole way)... and it's not much better than medium and hard clue loots have been. I guess it's symbolic that I'd get the lowest tier metal dragon mask. :P
