I like the concept of stone spirits. A drop obtained through PVM that doesn't devalue skilling methods. You're just doing a poor job of properly balancing the drop values. I can cut you some slack because of the update being new and prices being unstable.
I have two suggestions for giving some value to both PVM drops and skilling.
1: Split the previous drops of ore between granting salvage and stone spirits. Temporarily or permanently. For example a drop of 2,400 coal (Nex) could become 100 tiny adamant salvage (200k) and 1,000 coal stone spirits (....20k?). This could be used to put drops back at approximately the value they had before while stone spirits and ores settle in price. Then in a few months once prices are established you can go back to dropping purely stone spirits.
2: Have stone spirits award extra experience when obtaining the ore. Add the ability to turn off stone spirit usage. Anything that gives extra experience will sell good. Miners could turn off using them and sell the ones they get from mining as well since I predict experience giving stone spirits would exceed the price of the ores.
