How is it not a security liability that new accounts cannot have a bank pin until 7 days? Thats 7 days of less security, seven days of liability. Futhermore, I log into the Jagex client, I pay through the Jagex client, someone else manages to login as me through the Jagex client. At what part is that NOT the responsibility of... Jagex?
If I place my money in a bank, and that money is taken and proven to have been taken by a proven third party, I get that money back. The bank takes responsibility on thier client end. Similarly in my business if I take a customers money in exchange for a product, and if that product disapears while in my hands, I must reinburse the customer.
Yes I am aware of what the "Terms and Conditions" state. My arguement is that they are both morally and ethically repugnant. If you compare most of these e-commerce terms and conditions with real work counterparts, some how the e=commerce is able to deny all liability and responsibility.
In the end I guess the solution to my problem comes down to: give the company more money, or quit. Interesting how it always boils down to money. Give a company money and they love you, ask them for money, well now you're mortal enemies. All hail the mighty dollar/euro/quid, bow before its majesty; none can withstand its allure. How dare a customer ask for ~$40 dollars in compensation from an internationally successful business. My gosh, that $40 might put the company out of busineess.
We are in a world wide pandemic and economic depression. Truely one of the worst combinations for the common folk. What happened to grace? What happened to helping a fellow human? Where has compassion gone? When did greed replace logic as the central driving force? Has empathy withered and died?
As every day of 2020 goes by it looks like it.
