I had a problem updating and I assumed it was from this account mix up. I went through my phone on each Google account (play game, settings, etc) anything that had an account linked and changed it to link to my rs google account. I was then able to update and play on mobile. Make sure ALL of your Google accounts on your PHONE are for your rs mobile account. Mostly gaming but there are some hidden ones it seems. Hopefully this helps. :)

Hello , i have Android 5.0.2 and i was able to play oldschool rs mobile till the update. Now it shows that this version is not compatable with my device. Just give us an option to download the apk from the rs Website somehow so we can install it ourself.

This would be great, or atleast some kind of solution because this issue occured yesterday right after the newest update to the game, making thousands of req meeting devices surprisingly not compatible..

Please, could some Jmod react to this pretty common issue and hopefully offer to look into it to get it solved? I made also a specific topic for this with more accurate information included.

Exactly the same problem.
And also when open Runescape app and it opens up the play market, it mentioned there that i am beta tester (since i was already playing before update). But if I search for Runescape in the store manually it doesn't even recognize me as a beta tester anymore.
I really hope everything will go back to normal since I've already spent some good time skilling and looking forward to enjoy the gameplay on android.

I am having the same problems as the above posts my device is not compatible and wont let me download it anywhere in the google store>??? Why?? Been playing since Beta now it no longer works?? Why does it still say Beta in the google store ?? I thought it was fully released


My android system meets your requirements the app says my device is not compatible ...

I am also not able to update my app. When launching OSRS mobile I get message, that I need to update it, but after redirecting to google play store I am getting a message, that my device is not compatible. My phone is running on android 6.0.1.

Could the following issue be handled by mods as soon as possible? It's urgent and affecting thousands of OSRS players using mobile, there's being made more and more topics about this to these forums right now.


I got Android 7.1.1 with 2GB RAM (Samsung Galaxy J5 2016) and been using OSRS (Beta) since 5.7.2018 already. Now after the update last thursday (22.11), it started downloading the client n stopped with the error message: "Old School Runescape has encountered a problem. Your client needs updating. Opening store page..."

It didn't open the page and now when trying to search for "Old School Runescape" in Play Store, it's nowhere to be found. Tried deleting the beta version and search again, no such a luck.

Only way I found it, was through the browser and there it kept telling me that my device is not compatible with this version and wont let me download it, even though I have the latest Android updates (7.1.1, and it SHOULD BE working on 5.0 or newer) and was working perfectly for 4,5months before the recent update, on last thursday 22.11.


Neriphyra replied to my topic last weekend, saying that this issue will be shared to the team to look into, but no other reactions / Jmod replies on this big issue yet, that is blocking probably thousands of eligible users from downloading / using mobile.

Please, could this issue be handled Asap?

On my Samsung J5 2016, Android 7.1.1. I played the Beta, and after the official release.
It worked fine until a recent update, after which, when I tried to open OSRS on my phone, it took me to the store cause I had to update the game, only to say that my device is incompatible.
I tried uninstalling the app, now I can't find it in the store at all, if I try to search for it manually. The only way for me to find the app in the store is through the website, and when I go to install it through the site, it says "device is incompatible".

It's been almost 2 weeks since the Osrs update (22.11) that made thousands of eligible player unable to download, update or play OSRS Mobile. I know that CM Neriphyra stated she reported this issue to the team, but still no updates where we are going on in it at this moment. Could we please get some information about it?
