You could always join
. Since all events are masses, you could join the 'lower tier' bosses, such as God Wars Dungeon bosses (General Graardor, Kree'arra, Commander Zilyana). These bosses will die in just a few seconds

No better place to learn, come try something out, we'll also have a discord for everyone soon so we'll be able to get the hosts in and to give some tips and pointers for their events, provided all goes well with this

Have you tried using the legacy client in low detail?
I tend to do so and turn it to low detail myself for bigger events or graphically intensive ones
