It's a guy in the twisted jester outfit from solomon's store. It doesn't seem to have started yet even though dxp has ended however i think it is this from looking at the BTS page...

SPECTACULAR SUMMER SKILL-OFF

On the presumption that Gielinor survives Kerapac’s apocalyptic plot, the summer holidays will play host to a skill-focused game show event! The Summer Skill-Off takes place in the crater and will concentrate on six skills – Hunter, Cooking, Runecrafting, Agility, Dungeoneering and Herblore.

Players will throughout the time limited event be able to gather tokens by skilling throughout the game world. These can then be deposited at the station corresponding to one of the skills. This has two purposes: players will receive boosted XP in the associated skill, but it also serves as a vote. At the end of each voting period, the skill station with the fewest votes is deactivated. The last skill standing will be declared the winner!

The gathering will be home to some familiar faces seen in previous events. Also keep your eyes peeled for a new NPC who’s described as “mysterious and just a little insane”.

Rewards include the Snack Yak (which is exactly what it sounds like – a pack yak completely covered in food) and a really sinister looking sword, about which we shall remain tight-lipped...

I'm a bit dissapointed as well, had been getting excited for the beach event and then got a big serving of reality kick. I believe the jester does say it's the Spectacular Summer Skill-Off also. And looky at that, there's the system update in 30 minutes just as i finish writing this XD

me and most my friends always said at all the other same old lame events about how beach was best one and couldn't wait for it. Now sadly it is just like the rest. Jagex could save time by just giving out exp per month based on game time and not have to spend so much time trying to figure out new coat of paint on same lame event. All sarcasm aside it is getting to where there is too much needless content made to get members to spend real world $ for items that most times are just like all the others only different color and or a horn or something added.

Aww. Just found out now, oops it was already known a month ago, that there will be no beach. Was anticipating/looking forward to it these last few months.



Gonna miss hearing "Tropical Breeze" so many times lol, really love that one. Obviously can still play it from the list (and I do) but it won't be the same.

Dear Jagex/Runescape, Yes I could ask politely, but in this instance I'm not going to. Summer and summer fun is as good as sunlight, water and the stars seen at night, You get the picture.

Summer Beach party 2019 is a must have, a must, simply we all expect you to keep the summer fun coming each year.

Logged on for the first time in months to have a look at the beach event. I was a bit gutted that there was nothing there, to say the least. I prefer the old quest type holiday events, but the beach was a nice way to get to get the various fragmented communities of players together in one place for a bit. Regiment
