Greetings anyone. My apologies if I posted this in the wrong spot.

I am a returning player (I took a 2 yearish vacation). I just started playing again today.

I have an issue with buying bonds and membership. At first I tried to buy 1 bond and membership together on the official site and it failed 3 times, after the 3rd time I stopped because I did not want my bank to block my card.

So afterwards I thought there were a problem with my card so I called my bank and they confirmed they weren't the ones blocking the payment.

So next I tried paying it through mobile, so I used my google account (with the same card) and the membership was successful yay!

but now it won't let me buy a bond. It said something about me needing to adventure more.

I was wondering are there any requirements to buy a bond for new or returning players and may someone please tell me those requirements? I tried googling it and was unable to find any information about it. Also if there are requirements would this be the reason I had a difficult time buying both membership and a bond on the site (as in the bond was causing the issue?)

if you are curious, i just wanted the bond so i can jump right into questing and get some stamina potions and start working on getting graceful. I remember years ago it took me around 20 some hours and a lot of pots.

Thank you.

Hi there
Bag o Noob

Jagex does put purchase limits on accounts buying Bonds.
I haven't heard of the "needing to adventure more" message before but it would make sense.
Online fraud against Jagex through Bonds purchases is a significant problem and they may have brought in an activity requirement to try to limit fraudsters.
There is no information online about account purchase limits and how to determine what your limit is.

In regards to your payment, it may have been the Bond that was preventing your membership and Bond purchase from succeeding.
You could have tried splitting the purchase into two; buying membership first, then attempting to buy a Bond.

One thing I should tell you is that the website payment system and the mobile payment system are not compatible with each other.
You can't easily swap from one to the other.
Once you get into one payment system ALL your purchases have to be through the same payment system.
The only way to swap back to paying through the website is to let all your mobile purchased membership expire and your account fully return to F2p.

Thank you!!! I joined a CC and they told me pretty much what you said but you said it in more detail. I understand and that's completely understandable.

Thanks for letting me know about the mobile/website payments, i had no idea.

Alright, i'll quest and skill for a few days before trying again. Thank you guys!

I am also having the same issue buying bonds, it just keeps saying “preparing order”. Why is there not more information? I’m trying to buy bonds online and no matter how I try, from my computer or my phone I get the same response. Can someone help with this problem. And why isn’t customer support more streamline? As a 60 year old scaper I find customer support a struggle.

Hi there
edmedic

This could be a technical issue or a billing issue.

Assuming it is a technical issue, try clearing your browser cache then try the purchase again.
Instructions: How to clear your browser Cache

Assuming it is a billing issue, work through the troubleshooting on the Unsuccessful payment support page.

I have never come across the "we are getting your order ready" message before as a payment problem for RuneScape. I did a websearch and it didn't come up at all!

I assume you are using a credit card so, head to the Credit Card issues support page, read through the points there and see if any of them are useful.

As a last resort you can message Billing Support and put the problem to them.
The 'Contact Us' button is at the bottom of the page there.
