Cannot get into main account

Thank you all for hanging in with me. Part of the problem I was dealing with was that my computer screen was not completely available; so when I clicked the "restore" icon at top the "log out of all accounts" showed up. I clicked that and the entire Jagex Launcher vanished.
All went too fast and my memory is poor; so don't recall how I got the login window up; but when I did I typed in the information I use to get into these forums in and that window asked (for first time relative to the game) for the "code" which it sent to my registered email address. With that code I was able to get back into the game. Hooray!! Now only needed to change my "player" name back. I had a bond and used that; but got error message about using it; so had to come here and use "my account" to use that bond to change my name. But got it done!
Now not sure how to get onto my alternate accounts since I logged them all out of the Jagex Launcher.

Log into your Jagex Account on the website and visit the Jagex Account settings page. At the top of that page should be a heading that says 'Characters'. Click that and you'll be brought to a page similar to this:
From here, you will want to click the "Import Existing" button, and then choose to "Import a different character." You should then be prompted to enter the RuneScape account details to your alt, enter those and the account will be imported into your Jagex Account. Repeat that process for all other alts that you wish to import.
Once import is completed, fully exit out of the Jagex Launcher and restart it. All of your imported characters should now be available for play, all under one login.

Thank you. I did find that page and, which clicking the hyperlink about existing characters, the login window did come up. I did nothing with it as my trust level at this point in myself is a bit low; and I don't want to have to go thru all I did recently with my main account for each of my alternates.
Guess I'll add "one" of my alternates and find out if I've messed it up before doing another.

The login window is that you have to log into the alt to verify you own it, and then it's added to the Jagex Account. Perfectly normal thing.
It will then appear in the pop up that you mentioned in the next post.
That popup is what you use on the website to select which character profile to load. It automatically logs you in to the website because you're already signed in.
You sign into the Account, and then select the character to proceed with. It can also remember your session a bit longer, so you don't have to sign in as often. You can always hit the logout button at the end of each browsing session if concerned about leaving it active. Can I turn in a paper without citing all sources?
