Jagex owns these accounts, not us. If they want to make changes to how it works, they can do whatever they want.

This new system has been in the works for a year and 3 months now (announced originally when the Launcher came out in March 2022). The old account system had issues, they cant update it to modern standards, so it had to be replaced.

This also addressed issues people had with multiple accounts, complex passwords, changing the login email, being notified when your acct logs in, more authentication methods, not having to make a new account on a new game.

Worth pointing out also, that this is not an account manager. That IS the account. The old account system is gone, and our characters are part of that single account.

It takes time to get used to, I had a legacy username for 18 years. Old habits are hard to break for sure, but its just something we have to get used to. Can I turn in a paper without citing all sources?

Its whatever email that was used to make the jagex account when you set up the process. You would've had to verify it with a code also. Likely is the one you're using to access the website if you've migrated over.

And yes, the whole point of Jagex accounts, as stated in the various dev blogs the past year, is you have 1 account to access all your characters. The old logins are wiped as they are no longer separate accounts, but now part of the new main account. Can I turn in a paper without citing all sources?

Well the email I'm using to get into these forums will not let me into the game. :( I've only had one other email connected to RuneScape and I tried that as well with no luck in getting into game. Have no idea what to do....Just got my 20 yr cape too.... :(

How are you trying to access the game?

You'd need to use the Jagex Launcher. Best make sure all accounts are signed out, so it makes you have to log in, then use the email + pass for the website to log in.

The launcher uses the exact same login that the website does. Can I turn in a paper without citing all sources?

Had to remove the Jagex Launcher from my PC because it was not working. I went over to Jagex and downloaded their Jagex Launcher (for windows). It apparently installed well but only 2 of my alternate characters is on it. I was able to add the two alternates that were missing using their original user names and passwords. And I "can" get them into the game via this as I always did; however, have not been able to add my "main" account as I have no idea what its "user" name is nor what password it has. So my main account is still not accessible to be. I can only post on these forums with it. Have no idea what to do......... :(

You need to sign out of those 2 accounts from the launcher, and then on the login screen that pops up, you sign on to your main the exact same way you log into the website with.

If non-jagex accounts are signed into the launcher, it will not load the correct login portal.

Signing out will prompt the correct login, which is the exact same one the website uses Can I turn in a paper without citing all sources?

Ok this is what I've been doing:
Launching the Jagex Launcher and choosing one of my alternates listed on that window. All individually bring up a "regular" launcher that automatically signs them each into the game. I always close off the play window for each of those before pulling up another alternate. Since my main account is no longer among those listed on the Jagex Launcher I cannot use the Jagex Launcher to pull up the main account. And when I attempt to "add" my main account to that Jagex Launcher, all I get is "error' no matter what user names and passwords I try; and I've tried all I know.....

This is what I'm going to do now. I will not use the Jagex Launcher but will pull up the old RuneScape Launcher and see if I can get my main account into the game that way......

I made sure all my alternates were not in game and I closed off the Jagex Launcher; then went into my "task manager" and made sure nothing from Jagex was running. Then I pulled up the old RuneScape Launcher and signed in just as I do to get into this forum. Still I got the error message and was unable to get into the game. So signing into this forum is different from what I need to sign into game. Now what? ............feeling so sad............

The email and password I use to enter these forums do not let me into the game. I get error message.

Thinking "if" it is a password problem, I attempt to redo the password; but I never get the email Jagex is suppose to send me so as to permit the change. Yet when sending an email to that registered email from my other email account, I "do" get the email; and with its being the email I use to get into this forum (and the same email a request for the "code" is obtained letting me into these forums), I have no doubt my registered email is good.

None of the "helps" on this site have helped.

Apparently my "jagex account name" does not work as a "user" name either.

Also I have never set up an "authenticator"; however, somewhere in all this work I saw something saying my authenticator is "enabled". (I have no idea how it got that way, where I saw this or what to do about it. Am now wondering if that has to do with my login problem.)
