There's a sticky in Technical Support with more info about this and a few workarounds.

That is not useful. It is suggesting that I turn Anisotropic Filtering off. Well, I am not going to do that, because I have it turned on for a reason.

Jagex should fix their game so it works with Anisotropic Filtering turned on, like it aways has. I am not dumbing down my graphics settings.

"The issue is related to a possible driver issue on Intel + Nvidia Laptops with Graphical Switching Technology.

It is related to Nvidia anisotropic filtering."

This is an Intel driver issue with Nvidia Laptops, not a Jagex issue and unlikely they can fix solely on their end, as I mentioned.

The "fix" Jagex suggested is not on the graphics setting of their games, but settings on Nvidia and/or Intel.

It is indeed a Jagex issue. They changed their game, and now it displays wrongly. I didn't change any drivers. The fix from Jagex is to rollback whatever they changed in their latest update, because it worked perfectly well before that.

Jagex didn't change the game. Nvidia updated their driver, which causes an issue with Intel, and that issue applies to all kinds of Windows using Nvidia anisotropic filtering, not just RS3.

The issue thread about this already claims a reason being people forcing AF in the GPU control panel.

If you're doing that or forcing any graphics settings other than letting the Application specify it, stop being silly and turn it off.
