Yessir, that is what I did.
Actually, upon deactivating the VPN I was force-logged out, probably as a response to the sudden switching-off of the VPN.
Anyway, when attempting to log back into the launcher, the form presented for me to enter my login credentials
did not accept my jagex account password
, in fact
my chosen jagex account password was too long to be written in its entirety
.
I solved that issue by reinstalling the launcher entirely, which allowed me to log back into my jagex account just fine. Oddly, the "failed" form looked different to the form that successfully allowed me back in. The "failed" form had the traditional Runescape website aesthetic and colour scheme, whereas the "successful" form had the updated, modern Jagex launcher aeshetic. Could that be a bug, I wonder? Probably related to the VPN.
My situation now is that, after following every step via the Jagex Launcher correctly, right up to the moment where I can hit "Play Now" at the familiar Runescape login screen we all know and love, I receive a "Login Failed. Please try again." message.
Very odd, probably a China thing.
