I'd like to preface my post with the obvious - I had used macros on an account I had previously. This is not a matter of me being "wrongfully banned" whatsoever. I broke the rules and was permanently banned because of it. The account was banned several years ago.

Almost immediately after the ban, I submitted an appeal under the pretense that "it wasn't me". Which was not only incorrect, but Jagex almost certainly had the data to back up that it was in fact me. This appeal was unceremoniously rejected for obvious reasons.

I've been playing on another account since then, and progressed considerably farther than I did whilst I was cheating on the other account. I wanted to check to see just where I progressed to, but it no longer appears on the hiscores. This brought me back to the idea of requesting an appeal for the ban once again- this time being a significant amount of time after the ban with an appropriate amount of time to reflect on the situation and accept responsibility for what I had done.

However, the account still shows that the appeal was rejected. There is no option to resubmit an appeal, likely to prevent abuse.

I was curious if Jagex ever "reset" this type of thing, if it would be possible in the future to appeal this ban once more. I in no way am assuming that they will accept a new appeal, but I feel much more equipped to submit a proper appeal after all this time. I feel as though I "wasted" my previous appeal in a heat-of-the-moment attempt to not lose the account.

Again- I accept what I've done and understand why they've done it. If there's any chance they would appeal it, I obviously would want to pursue it.

Appeal an offence ... <- (link) at '
Jagex's Support Centre
'.

...

Offences can be appealed once,
if your appeal is denied the decision is final.

Unappealable offences

Where a ban or mute is unappealable, it means that the Player Support team have already performed a thorough review to confirm that the offence is correct and that the account's user is liable for the activity,
so no further appeal is invited
.

I hope you do understand what is written.

Hey, 91 Loud Doe.

Jagex has been known to allow subsequent appeals several years after the first appeal is sent. However, please note that:

1. It's entirely their prerogative to do so; and
2. It depends on the type of rule(s) broken and their severity.

Considering that yours was a macroing ban, there is a possibility that you MAY or MAY NOT receive another appeal in the future. The only way to determine this is to keep checking your account settings to see if and when an appeal shows up.

Edit:

For more clarity and veracity, please refer to Community Helper Malua's post below:

As far as the current ban goes, there is no chance at the moment to get a further review however Jagex do update the Appeal System from time to time and, when they do, they often allow players to submit a new appeal .
If Jagex are doing updates to the Appeal System, there is a chance they are improving the hijacker detection system as well.
I recommend you check the 'Account Status' tab on the banned account once a year and see if a new appeal opportunity has arrived.

Hi there

It depends what the offence is. Some offences cannot be appealed at all while others can.

Each time Jagex update the Appeal System, they release a new appeal chance to accounts that have appealable offences. There have been three new appeal chances given in the past six years due to three updates to the Appeal System.

So, in answer to you, it really depends what the offence the account was banned for is.
