This thread has been moved to the Community Led Account Help Forum.

For information on bans, what types may be appealed and how to appeal them, please see the Appeal an offence page in the Support Centre.

Edit: The first post has been hidden for discussing another player unrelated to this issue. The post is quoted below with the other player's name removed.

Original message details are unavailable.
My account "Getsuga" has been banned over 2 years ago for a time period that i was not even playing in. The case was appealable but it got rejected.

I play on and off for years and the account had been originally created in 2006/2007.

The ban was placed in November 2021 and I appealed the ban some time after that. Surely that shows that someone else was in control of my account at the time?

What can anyone do to support this? Clearly there is a lot of people getting banned for similar reasons. Jagex bot detection is not absolute and to say that I am guilty with no evidence apart from a source of "trust me bro" what are we meant to do when you do not have a huge social media following like [Edited].

Extra Raw,
your thread title is misleading as you already know how to appeal a ban.
The problem is you have used your ban appeal and it was unsuccessful. :P

There are two things Jagex check when a ban appeal is submitted.
1. whether the offence occurred on the account
2. whether the account owner was in control at the time of the offence

Jagex check point #1. as sometimes they make a mistake and there was no offence committed at all.
Jagex check point #2. because they will remove the ban if the account is found to be under the control of a hijacker at the time of the offence.

If your appeal failed it means that, not only is the offence confirmed to have occurred but that Jagex could find no evidence of hijacker activity on the account.

Jagex have to respond to the evidence they see in their records but it is possible for a hijacker to mask their activity.
It is for this reason that account security is absolutely paramount.
You must keep hijackers out of your account.
It is possible to go inactive on an account and still keep it secure.

I recommend you review your email, device and account security via the instructions on the Security tips support page.

As far as the current ban goes, there is no chance at the moment to get a further review however Jagex do update the Appeal System from time to time and, when they do, they often allow players to submit a new appeal.
If Jagex are doing updates to the Appeal System, there is a chance they are improving the hijacker detection system as well.
I recommend you check the 'Account Status' tab on the banned account once a year and see if a new appeal opportunity has arrived.

The player you named was banned for an unusual reason that was not related to macroing activity. You could equally have a "huge social media following" and it wouldn't have made a bit of difference in your case.

Appeal an offence ... <- (link) at '
Jagex's Support Centre
' you will find information.

Unappealable offences

Where a ban or mute is unappealable, it means that the Player Support team have already performed a thorough review to confirm that the offence is correct and that the account's user is liable for the activity, so no further appeal is invited.
