There is one big problem with the iron man mode as presented:

It would be possible to have people help you kill bosses like those at gwd, and an ironman would receive the drop even if they only dealt 51% of the damage. In order for an iron man to hold true to its name, I think an iron man must deal 100% of the damage to any monster/boss in order to get the drop.

Until this is added I am unlikely to vote yes for the iron man mode.

I like the idea you got about the 100% damage

But what happens if some comes by just to bug you and poke a 1 on the boss? You wouldn't get any loot? Because of 1 damage?

That can be done, what does everyone think?

Agree. Ironman should be solo. You can't get help in other one player games can you?

Most people saying no to Corp rather cannot do it, or do not understand balancing in the game very well imo.

Someone said there is no content to use the shields at right now. Are you crazy? Look at what people used Divine/Elysian for when they were first released;

Solo/Duo Bandos/Zamorak/Armadyl, tanking Corp when he switches to you, DKs, KQ and even pvp. You can use one of them two shields at almost every current boss in the game.

The other two were sort after as well, the Spectral is the "purple partyhat" of spirit shields, most people who bought it just to have one because it was the cheapest. Some used it for Armadyl but it wasn't effective. The Arcane's stats speak for itself as to why it was so popular.

This is the perfect time to poll Corp and the shields will add a lot to the game. The balance between how rare they are to get and the price of them is something I'm greatly looking forward too. I bought my first Divine in rs2 for just over 900m, it was a great piece of "end game" content to work towards and took quite a while to achieve the money to buy it. Right now most pvmers don't have that type of goal to push for.

As for Iron man mode, I don't have any plans, nor ever did have any plans to make one, but what was the reason for no NMZ? If I'm aware, I think most Iron men use NMZ right now?

If it can in fact be done, I'd like that a lot. Ironman = solo in every way.

You could have this argument for any number of damage, the answer would be to find a damage percentage everyone agrees on, anything from 75-90% sounds most reasonable to me.

When OSRS came out, everyone had to start from level 3 and no one had their stats or items transferred over from RS3. When clue scroll counters came out, everyone had to start from 0 despite some people doing thousands of clues previously. So, why will there be an exception for iron man mode? The people who started playing didn't do so with the expectation of a hiscores coming out so they have nothing to lose, but it ruins the excitement for everyone else who was interested in competing on the hiscores. Why go for, say, first to 1000 total when someone's already there before it's even started?

----

* Regarding the shields, there is no option for people who want the shields but only if the divine if nerfed - can't the three other shields be polled separately, and have two questions just for the divine?

* "Cannot use minigame teleports/nightmare zone" - Why take out parts of the game like this? They are legitimate parts of the game which you can do without any assistance from other players. If you think these features make the game too easy, shouldn't they be removed for everyone - or at least just reserved for iron man's hard mode?

* "Cannot use an altar in another player's PoH" - Teleports and mounted glories too presumably?

* Only allowed to buy items which cannot be made or gathered as a resource from shops - I think this should be reserved for hard mode if anything - making money for runes from shops is already a challenge, but I'm sure some people will disagree. :P

I don't know if this can be done but. For the 100% damage to get the drop.

Why not add in that message the random event use to have, it said something like "someone else is fighting that" and lock every monster so if an ironman attacks it then nobody else can? And if the ironman stops attacking it for let's say 5 seconds then it's free for all on it again. That would fix it all I would think. But don't do it in minigames like castle wars, and stuff like that.

If you are playing a iron man you should be able to kill what ever you want without it being stolen. I mean you should have a little respect.

I don't agree with that. Iron men shouldn't have a special ability of being able to lock a monster just because they're attacking it. If they want that type of thing, make "iron men only" worlds so everyone has that ability on that world.

I agree with this. I know a lot of people have worked hard on their current iron men and will be disappointed with this response, but if they're doing the no NMZ rule, that nulls most current iron men. Just have a blank slate, everyone that wants to be on the highscores with their iron men has to start fresh. I doubt too many current iron men would care, after all, you're only cheating yourself if you cheat on a current iron man.
