What's up with everyone taking shots at each other just for stating an opinion? That is, after all, what this thread is for - our opinions. A low level certainly has a say in high level content. We never know whether they have a main account or whatever their situation or past experience might be. Let's not discourage each other. In the end it will come down to all of our votes anyway.

On topic and in regards to the Iron man challenge,
I believe title
icons by our names
in-game are definitely
necessary
in order to distinguish the players who have taken up the challenge and inconveniences of being an Iron man. Without some obvious distinguishment, Iron man players will just appear to be noobs walking around when in fact they possess a unique set of skills in the game! We certainly wouldn't want to be limited to walking around in the iron man outfit all day in order to distinguish ourselves :P

Iron man, doesn't communicate with the community what, so what from pvming/pking.

Boaty pks - loots from peoples deaths - not a legit iron man

Flaux is currently, the only legit iron man around.

I like the icon idea, I hope they will introduce more modes with their own icons too.

like skiller mode - everything combat wise is locked

seasonal mode - you compete with others in lets say "4 months" to see whos the best and then it goes **** to a new season like in diablo. This is a very popular type of 'mode' in other games too


I'm sure there's a bunch of others too, I just see 'modes' bringing new life into rs as it would make it more competitive for everyone. And of course icons for each mode XD

Instead of blocking off Iron Man mode from Fishing Trawler, why not make it so they can only do Fishing Trawler by themselves? It's a lot more difficult, but it is possible, and I personally find it more enjoyable to solo Trawler than go in a group. There's a lot higher chance of failure soloing it and you won't get as many rewards, but you can still get them if you really want.

Here are the rules of iron man mode.

No trading other players (other than for the Shield of Arrav and Heros quests).
No picking up items dropped from other players (including PvP)
No PvP XP
Not able to pick up loot from monsters unless you do the most damage to it
Auto-aid button is permanently off
Cannot use an altar in another player's PoH
Only allowed to buy items which cannot be made or gathered as a resource from shops
Cannot use nightmare zone, fishing trawler or fight pits,
No staking
Cannot use minigame teleports



Why disable nightmare zone? This would make it impossible to get Craystal Bow (I) or Salve Amulet (ei), could you possibly make it limited to being able to solo it only? By making accept aid permanently disabled you prevent using Nightmare zone with a team. Currently I agree with all rules with the exception on the Nightmare zone rule, I do however believe it should only be you playing in it and no assistance from the Nightmare zone accounts that everyone buys games from.

Also make a Iron man only world that could have a less powerful Corp (not easy to kill just possible to solo on a ironman) to kill for iron man accounts.


Edit: Also I agree that mini games should be available to Iron Man accounts, why should they not have the same gear/bonus's in their arsenal as any other player?

I also like the idea of making the bosses for Iron Man accounts instance style, I would be willing to bet several people would have their friends go to godwars and help by killing the more dangerous minions making the bosses sooo much easier.

If you are going to make NMZ/ PC/ Fishing Traw/ off limits then make a new method of obtaining the rewards they offer that are not offered anywhere else? (e.x. Void, Craystal Bow (I), Salve Amulet (ei), Imbued Rings/ slayer helm.

I have always been under the impression that a Iron Man accounts restrictions were limited to: No Trading/ Staking, No accept aid/ Player help. Whats up with the extra rules for no reason?

I think its too early for corp and spirit shields, these items would be of such a rediculous value that when you are killing corp in a group, theres a pretty big chance the person getting the drop will just take off with it never to be seen again. I propose getting some lootshare system before adding content like corp, or you'll be looking at a lot of complaints.

Then don't go with people you don't trust.
Also, lootshare isn't antiscam, coinshare is. Coinshare has been confirmed to be impossible because there's no ge and no prices. Also even if devs did somehow make a type of coinshare, nobody knows what the first divine will go for so nobody would know how much to set the coinshare as.
