I agree. If they want to be an iron man, let them be one. Don't go out of your way to make it so exclusive and give them a new symbol next to their name so everyone can acknowledge that they're an iron man account.

There are other priorities to be worked on here (new quests, areas, content in current skills), why would even dare to make an iron man mode when players can already choose to not interact with other players?

Come on, get your priorities in order, OSRS team.

I'm trying to estimate the amount of code needed to remove the trade option and add in a little text box to choose to be an ironman or not in tutorial island. Oh look, it's less than the amount of code it takes to make a new continent. Seriously it's a priority, because it's asked for by a large crowd, and it's a simple enough update that they can keep a lot of people occupied for a lot of time.

I would vote for Iron man but I have a problem with this bit

"In game iron man accounts will have access to a unique outfit which they can wear while they are an iron man and when they talk they will have a new icon next to their chat. "

It's not needed - it's separating people, and if that part comes in I'll stay away.

The only obvious/provable part of Iron Man that should be brought in are an Iron Man high scores.

The restrictions placed on the account don't need to be advertised or flaunted to other players in-game.

Otherwise I'd try to create an account.

Please rethink this OSRS team.

Excuse me, what do you know about the source of the OSRS? You have no idea how long it would take to change how the account handling is worked so do not speak as if you do.
Did they say that all they were doing was removing the trade option and a little text box at tutorial island? No. Please read and comprehend the entire thread before posting.

Really excited for a back exit to Lumbridge castle, if you could do one for West Varrock bank, that would be awesome as well!
I agree with you on this..I am beyond excited for the Iron Man Mode and Highscores so I am looking what I can do to help the devs poll something that will pass..The "elitism" idea is something I've seen several times now.
Please remove the chat icons and make it so only new accounts can be on the iron man highscores ...We don't want to play catch up to the streamers, as somebody else said. The chat icons may very well be the downfall of this vote if they're kept in when polled.

I agree with you...I'm not usually one to be a "fanboy" of streamers but as B0aty once said, if you decide to get resources from NMZ on an iron man it kills the idea of diversity. You go from being forced to experience the whole(solo) game to the game revolving around NMZ.
I feel the need to restate this one more time: Please REMOVE CHAT ICONS - I want this update to pass more than just about anything. Too many people will downvote just because of the chat icons. All you have to do is please the majority to make the idea live, a compromise of sorts. We still get our account and the highscores, the rest of the game isn't affected.

I'm sorry to say this but the Blog (corp) is very shoddy and not well thought out. Considering you have had a huge amount of feedback and access to previous 2008 data it seems to have been put together in a rush and is incomplete.

Ironman
With no shops you will have to make your own vials and all your runes etc. Fishing Trawler is perfectly soloable yet is disallowed, whilst Pest Control can be abused despite the zeal req. Again shoddy.

That said I will vote YES for these updates as I feel the spirit of the content is better than the presentation.
