I understand we do not want rares to be a merchant and hoarding item but they will be no matter what.

The lower the price, the more people can buy. "Rares" still don't spawn ~51 weeks out of every year. As the years go by and less people do the events, less rares will come in even at 2 per person per year per event. That is still a small amount in the overall scheme based on hoarding that is going on right now.

People are so afraid of hoarding and merchanting aspects, but they will happen 10 fold with more supply. There is a huge incentive to hoard to sell during the 51 week downtime of no spawning. The partyhat may not reach max cash legendary price tag, but people flipping thousands of sets seasonally based on the 51 week dry spell will dominate the market in new and unseen ways.

Most people are worried about high price tag low volume, like in RS3/EOC discontinued style. In this "rare" model we will see lower prices with extremely high volume and people profiting just as extreme. It will take some more time to catch on because it is a newer mindset, but it will.

Once it does we may even see large groups of people dropping tons of items to delete quantity due to their low cost. Thus creating a discontinued status against your goodwill. There is no way to stop it, I just say it to bring to light the history of what we have seen in the other version of RS. It will only be a matter of time before it happens here.

its a good thing to have a few items that dominate the market, whats the point in having the same items that everyone else has? there needs to be items that are so expensive that not every player has one, a 14 year old with a book on economics can figure this out, im 25 and my major in college right now is economics, there needs to be rares in the game, it doesn't have to be the famous phat, it can be anything that players would want to work towards, the only reason I still play eoc is to finish my phat set,.....plz no more phats, no more santas, no more hweens, there economy in this game will not grow without high priced items, and a 30m sword isn't going to do the trick..take staking for example, in EoC I use spirt shards as currency because max cash stack is pointless now, because so many people have it, and not everyone knows you can use shards as a currency since the price of them never falls your rises, yes having 100b is pointless but it sure in the hell is fun to show off..

I like the time trail slayer alot and the idea of the slayer helm i think it would be a good item to be placed into osrs, i also like the idea but time trail and co-op seem very pleasing i like the idea of gaining extra slayer points from each time trail it will make tasks alot of fun.

That's a good reason to, BUT Pink was the most expensive party hats in classic until there was a glitch which turned them purple, which oddly made them the cheapest

Well then I guess came over to OSRS for the wrong reasons .. sounds like those kind of people that would quit cause phats wont be rares only came to merch .. go back to RS3 is what I would say
