Whatever you do with rares, please make sure you put loads of them into the game if they're going to be tradable. I really like what you did with halloween, giving 2 masks per player to introduce an overload of these items on top of the already existing items that were obtained during the summer. The more of these items there are, the less value they'll have. Please avoid at all costs that rares become ridiculously valuable as they are in eocscape, effectively dominating the economy.

Keep in mind that partyhats come in 6 colors, so introducing (average) 2 of each per player would mean 12 crackers.

You may want to take a look at the other end of the cracker's reward (I'm looking at you, rune kiteshield) if you actually end up dishing out that many crackers. I don't have enough cracker-pulling experience to know if that would be an issue at all though :P

The rs wikia site states some weird percentages for the likelihood of receiving a specific color partyhat from the cracker: ranging from nearly 25% for a red partyhat to less than 8% for a purple one. Considering that anyone can edit that and that they claim to have a sample size of over 2000 crackers, I find it highly doubtful/suspicious lol... but could you confirm that it's the logical, simple 1/6 (*16.6%) chance for each the same?

Also, it could be cool if they were in the original red color? That would be epic. :)

I noticed a lot of talk about magic first few pages...we don't need another weapon. Staff of the dead is great!

What about a 65/70 def armor for magic that doesn't degrade? At the moment the best we have is I believe infinity. Maybe a type of armor like Subjection? A type of armor that adds % dmg like how it was pre eoc. Magic needs a good buff if we ever want it to compete with range or even melee.

I support the slayer changes but I can't get behind the rainbow partyhat or the black santa. Also, I'm not a fan of the GWD pets. They're a little over the top in my opinion. I'm a little concerned that too many changes are being made to OSRS, although I think some general 'quality of life' updates can't hurt.

Mist Rising made an interesting comment about semi-common rares. I believe that a status of moderately-rare to rare could work as well. Even with potentially lowered spawn rate of a handful of crackers per person per year, that is still spawning.

This idea is actually quite good since it still benefits everyone and it allows for them to be worth something too. If you make knee jerk reactions and sell everything based on profitability, feel like you are lied to... whatever. Calm the **** down. Participate in the community.

Picture a scenario of limited spawning rares on a once a year basis. Everybody still gets them annually and everybody can still hoard them. That way people get free money, cool stuff and there is more of a merch/hoard community. What is wrong with hoarding? Even if partyhats are worth 100k forever (edit: spawning 2 sets of each per holiday) people will continue to buy them because after a certain point you have to make goals. Eventually they will have so many they will dominate the market in a new and weirder way everyone will hate.

Some people want to buy 20 AGS, some people want to buy 200 phat set... whatever. The problem with hoarding is totally cutting off the supply. If people hoard rares, and the little guys like me still get a couple a year for free... I can buy 99's... expensive equip etc. just for participating in the game.

Whatever though, ppl rage... ppl rage.

I think there is a lot of potential for a strong rare community where rares are actually rare... and a hoard/merch community can do what they want. While everyday players, the average joe, me, can get free stuff that is actually worth something.

QED.

I agree no need for more magic weapons now, we need new magic robes with 75-80 mage/def requirements. No magic damage boosts just better magic attack bonuses would be nice, I think a zamorak cape color style would be awesome.
