Dev Blog: Agility XP

With the Rooftop Agility courses due for launch next week, it is time to discuss the XP rates for the courses with you. We have already had a lot of feedback on how you want us to handle the XP rates and it is important to us to ensure that what is delivered is what you want. You have made it clear that you didn't want any existing content to be devalued by the inclusion of the new courses or items, although there is no escaping that 9 new agility courses is going to impact how you use the existing courses, we have tried to ensure that there are still reasons to visit the existing agility courses on your journey to level 99.

Agility Course XP rates - Your feedback is needed
Both Mod Reach and Mod Ash have spent many hours with a stop watch in hand while running around the courses and here are the XP rates for each course.

So, how do we see this working. Well, one journey to level 99 may well look like this:

Level 1-25 - Grand Tree (8.5k hr)
Level 25-35 - Draynor (9.6k hr)
Level 35-45 - Al Kharid (10k hr)
Level 45-55 - Barbarian Assault (16k hr)
Level 55-60 - Canifis (21.5k hr)
Level 60-75 - Wilderness (45k hr)
Level 75-85 - Ape Atoll (49.7k hr)
Level 85-89 - Dorgesh-Kaan (55k hr)
Level 89-95 - Rellekka (57k hr)
Level 95-99 - Ardougne (62k hr)

Of course, there will be many alternatives if you want to mix things up a little. For example, some of you may not like training in the Wilderness, while others may not have completed Monkey Madness.

The important thing to remember here is that these XP rates are not fixed, we want your feedback and thoughts so we can adjust them prior to launch if you want us to.

Graceful Outfit
As with the courses, we didn't want the Graceful outfit to devalue any existing weight reduction items. So, the Graceful Gloves, Boots and Cape offer less weight reduction than the Penance Gloves, Boots of Lightness and the Spottier Cape, as seen below:

Graceful hood -3 Kg weight reduction
Graceful cape -4 Kg weight reduction
Graceful body -5 Kg weight reduction
Graceful legs -6 Kg weight reduction
Graceful gloves -3 Kg weight reduction
Graceful boots -4 Kg weight reduction

You will buy the Graceful Outfit using Marks of Grace which will randomly spawn around the Rooftop agility courses. We estimate that in order to get the full outfit you will need to do approximately 60 hours of agility on the Rooftop courses. The only exception to this is the Ardougne agility course. So that players with a high level of agility have the chance to get the outfit without spending 60 more hours on agility, we have made the marks appear more frequently on that course.

Although we have done our best to make sure the agility rates posted above are what you will get, we know that you guys are resourceful in how you train, so if you are finding there is a noticeable discrepancy between the XP rates the content goes live with and what you are getting, let us know so we can make any changes necessary.

Can't wait, it looks good to me.

Just one question, maybe I missed this, but, what stats does the Graceful set have? And does it require a defence level?

There are no additional stats for the Graceful outfit other than the weight reduction. There are no requirements to wear it either. So, skilling pures can enjoy it too.

why do the legs reduce your weight more than the body? and how much will each piece cost?

As you use your legs most when training agility, it makes sense to have the legs have the biggest reduction.

The costs currently are:

Graceful hood - 60 marks
Graceful cape - 120 marks
Graceful top - 150 marks
Graceful legs - 160 marks
Graceful gloves - 20 marks
Graceful boots - 30 marks

I think you should increase the XP rate of Falador course. Ape atoll requires less 2 levels than Falador and is 23.2k XP/hr faster.

Otherwise, it will become useless and dead content for those aiming for Agility XP.

ape atoll course is hard to do unless your lvl 65-70 agility due to failing alot only time you get good xp from it, is when your 75 and you dont fail anything
